Another Nigerian social media debate has entered the group chat 🍿
This time, the discussion centers on whether Yoruba culture or Islam offers women more rights and freedoms. The conversation touched on education, property ownership, leadership roles, marriage, religion and cultural practices, with both sides presenting lengthy arguments.
As expected, the timeline is sharply divided.
What’s your take on the debate? 👀
@NigeriaStories On general views and opinions I think cutting there imprest and allowances of Ministers and other officials is impressive, welcoming, and seems so easy to achieve, but what about those of Senetor and Houses of Rep members.

Is 9mobile still alive?
I watched the video of the Father that went to the gym to arrest a gym instructor for impregnating his 17 year old daughter. For some reasons, I am always of the opinion that any guy that goes to the gym every morning and evening, Monday to Sunday, rubs cream and powder, and be doing fine boy isn't serious with his life.
Aside that broadchest, lines between their stomach known as 6 packs, and and yeye body physique which they pride in, most of them are gold diggers who prey on ignorant women.
They will wear singlet every night, rub cream and be doing fine boy. Majority of them are Male Ashawo under the guise of Bouncers. They know that's what most ladies want, so they prioritize it
I am sorry to say this, if you are dating a guy under that category, you might just be dating yourself. Some of you ladies are the ones bankrolling them under the serious boyfriend tag. Una go see shege. Some blackmail some of these ladies and take money from them.
They are the people Cindy referred to as iron condemn preek. Ṅa dem dey gather baby mama full everywhere. Take this post seriously for all I care.
Except it's emergency and your life depends on it, avoid bouncers and gym instructors. They will mess your life up

🚨 BREAKING NEWS
The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has called on Ndigbo worldwide to boycott all businesses linked to Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana.
This follows controversial remarks allegedly made by the businessman, where he claimed that Ndigbo lack knowledge and urged support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
OYC President, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, described the comments as insulting and unacceptable, stressing that Ndigbo must respond through a non-violent economic boycott.
The group insists that while Obi Cubana has the right to political affiliation, disrespect toward the Igbo people will not be tolerated.
🛑 Businesses affected include Cubana Group ventures such as hotels, nightclubs, and affiliated brands.

Nigerian crude sold to Dangote Refinery through London, Dubai middlemen at $18 higher price – Ugochinyere
Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Ikenga Ugochinyere, has alleged that Nigerian crude is being sold to Dangote Refinery and others through middlemen based in London, United Kingdom, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
He made the claim during a press briefing on Thursday, where he raised an alarm that the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery may be hit with a crude supply shortage.
According to him, Dangote Refinery pays an extra $18 for every $100 barrel of Nigerian crude it buys through intermediaries.

🇳🇬 Nigerians who think Trump & Netanyahu have forgotten about Christians in Nigeria...
Well, I have news for you!
It's just unfortunate that the war with Iran has dragged on this long. To be fair, neither side likely expected Iran to hold out and fight this fiercely into March 2026, now in its third week since the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on February 28.
Iran has been highly strategic, effectively choking global shipping by disrupting the Strait of Hormuz.
They have declared it closed at certain points, attacked commercial vessels with drones, missiles, and mines (fewer than 10 mines so far, but threats continue), and shifted to selective access, letting some “friendly” ships through while blocking others.
This has slashed traffic to a trickle (down from about 138 vessels daily pre-war), spiked oil prices, caused fuel shortages in parts of Asia and Africa, and kept the entire world on edge with rerouting, skyrocketing insurance costs, and widespread economic ripple effects.
That is exactly why the conflict is still dragging.
Iran’s control over this chokepoint, which handles about 20% of global oil, is holding everyone hostage, forcing the U.S. and its allies to focus on reopening it while striking Iranian naval assets and energy sites deeper inside the country.
They are busy right now, but once they finish dismantling those terror networks and proxy capabilities in Iran, attention will likely return to regional allies and commitments in Africa.
Let me remind you, even before this Iran escalation intensified, Benjamin Netanyahu had already promised collaborative efforts with African and Middle Eastern partners to combat the spread of Hamas and similar threats across the continent.
He Specifically highlighted the persecution of Christians in places like Nigeria, Syria, Lebanon, and Turkey, positioning Israel as part of an emerging alliance to protect vulnerable Christian communities worldwide, including intelligence sharing and security support in Africa.
As we speak, the comprehensive report prepared by Congressman Riley Moore, leading the Trump-ordered investigation after Nigeria’s redesignation as a Country of Particular Concern, has been delivered to President Trump. It outlines concrete actions to address the persecution of Christians, counter extremist violence, and strengthen partnerships with Nigeria.
The report was presented to the White House in February 2026, with recommendations ranging from sanctions to potential security cooperation.
Again, the war with Iran has dragged on and diverted focus, but once that situation is stabilized, we will see whether those lethal assurances to protect vulnerable Christians in Nigeria and across Africa are fulfilled, while also dismantling the networks and backers linked to Iran.
Only time will tell. Till then, keep tabs.🤞
SEXUAL ASSAULT ON WOMEN AT OZORO FESTIVAL IS A NATIONAL DISGRACE
A society reveals its true character in how it treats its women. Where women are chased, stripped, groped, violated, and publicly humiliated by mobs under the guise of celebration, what is on display is not culture. It is barbarity. It is a collapse of conscience. It is a stain on our shared humanity.
The deeply disturbing reports emerging from a recent festival in Ozoro, Delta State are not just troubling, they are horrifying. Women were allegedly accosted in broad daylight, forcefully stripped of their clothing, sexually assaulted, and subjected to degrading treatment by groups of young men while others watched, recorded, and, in some instances, cheered. No woman should ever have to endure such terror, such exposure, such violation of her dignity.
This was not a festival. This was lawlessness. This was gender-based violence in its most primitive and shameful form.
These acts amount to a grave violation of the fundamental rights to dignity of the human person, personal liberty, and security as guaranteed under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), as well as other international human rights instruments. They also constitute serious criminal offences under our laws, including assault, sexual violence, and public indecency.
The NBA condemns these acts in the strongest possible terms. No tradition, no custom, no so-called cultural practice can excuse or legitimise the degradation and violation of women. Any practice that permits such cruelty is not culture. It is criminality.
We call on the Delta State Government and all relevant law enforcement agencies to act swiftly and decisively. The perpetrators must be identified, arrested, and prosecuted. Those who aided, enabled, or failed to intervene must also be held accountable. Justice must not be delayed, and it must not be selective.
Silence, indifference, or excuses in the face of such brutality only embolden further abuse.
We further call on community leaders, traditional institutions, and festival organisers to take urgent responsibility. Cultural celebrations must never become theatres of violence. They must reflect dignity, order, and respect for human life, not chaos and cruelty.
The protection of women is not optional. It is a legal duty. It is a moral obligation. It is a test of who we are as a people. Nigeria must not become a place where women live in fear of being stripped of both their clothing and their dignity in public spaces.
This must never happen again!

Peace died the cruelest of death.
She wasn’t sick.
Full of life.
She went for Thursday church service and was crossing a road she had crossed countless times just in front of her church.
She was knocked down by a convoy of vehicles driving recklessly on top speed.
The cars on the convoy took turns to run over her.
Each smashing the promising life out of her and when they were done, her structures were left in ruins.
Her killers sped off without an iota of conscience.
She wasn’t even given the slightest of chance to contemplate survival.
How much cruel can life be…
Rest well peace.
But may people that have hand in ur death never find rest
