Soft Pine พาผู้ฟังออกเดินทางครั้งใหม่กับ “Funky Getaway” ซิงเกิ้ลลำดับสุดท้ายก่อนการมาถึงของอัลบั้มเต็มชุดที่ 5 “Life on a Rocket” ที่มีกำหนดปล่อยในวันที่ 11 มิถุนายนนี้

“Funky Getaway” ขับเคลื่อนด้วยกรูฟที่ชวนโยกตามตั้งแต่ต้นจนจบ ผ่านจังหวะกลองที่เรียบง่ายแต่เร้าใจ ผสานกับไลน์เบสและกีตาร์ที่กระชับ พร้อมด้วยซินธ์โทนแหลมที่พุ่งทะยาน ราวกับเสียงเครื่องยนต์ของจรวดกำลังออกจากแรงโน้มถ่วงของโลก

ในพาร์ทการร้อง เพลงนี้เผยอีกมุมที่น่าสนใจของ Soft Pine ด้วยการเล่าเรื่องผ่านการพูดคล้ายการส่งสัญญาณวิทยุ ประโยคที่วนซ้ำเหมือนเสียงในความคิด และเมโลดี้ที่ค่อยๆ พาผู้ฟังล่องลอยออกจากโลกความจริงอย่างแผ่วเบา

มิวสิกวิดีโอของเพลงนี้กำกับโดย “ณป่าน” จากวง Hariguem Zaboy ซึ่งเป็นทั้งพี่ชายและหนึ่งในผู้มีอิทธิพลทางดนตรีของสมาชิกวง โดยถ่ายทอดออกมาในสไตล์ DIY กลิ่นอายยุค 90s ผ่านภาพของการออกไปหลงทาง เดินเล่น และใช้เวลาร่วมกับเพื่อนสนิทในเมือง บนบรรยากาศเรียบง่ายที่แฝงไปด้วยอารมณ์บางอย่าง

Driven by an irresistibly bouncy groove, “Funky Getaway” keeps the momentum alive from start to finish. Its simple yet punchy drum patterns lock in with tight bass and guitar lines, while sharp, soaring synths cut through the mix—evoking the sound of a rocket engine breaking free from Earth’s gravity.

On the vocal side, the track reveals another dimension of Soft Pine’s artistry. Spoken-word passages resemble radio transmissions, looping phrases echo like inner thoughts, and the melodies gradually lift listeners away from reality, creating a weightless, drifting sensation.

Lyrically, the song explores stepping into the unknown—navigating life without a clear destination, filled with love, uncertainty, confusion, and a constant stream of questions. These themes sit at the core of "Life on a Rocket," an album that frames life as an ongoing journey, much like a rocket that never truly comes to rest.

The music video is directed by “Napan” of Hariguem Zaboy—also the older brother and a key musical influence on the band’s members. Shot in a DIY style with a subtle ’90s aesthetic, it captures moments of getting lost, wandering the city, and spending time with close friends, all presented through an understated lens that quietly holds deeper emotions beneath the surface.
