🚨| 10 THINGS I LEARNED FROM MANCHESTER UNITED 1-1 LEEDS UNITED… ✍️
🔴Mbeumo must play closer to goal. I’ll keep saying it - put him in dangerous areas and he delivers.
🔴Bruno Fernandes + Tielemans need a destroyer. A pacey, ball-winning midfielder who can break up play is essential. Right now, I see Santos fitting that role better than Mainoo.
🔴Zirkzee isn’t United calibre. Even changing to a 4-4-2/4-2-4 doesn’t convince me otherwise.
🔴Carrick’s work with youngsters is brilliant. You can genuinely see individual development happening.
🔴Some youngsters aren’t ready yet. Amass, Thompson, Jack Fletcher and Tyler Fletcher still need more time before being trusted at the top level.
🔴Yoro is improving. His progress under Carrick is encouraging, and the manager clearly wants to develop him properly.
🔴Rashford has work to do. With this level of competition, he’ll have to seriously impress to force his way into this team.
🔴Lammens looks ready. The No.1 looks confident and prepared for the season ahead. I’ll take some credit for that. 😂
🔴Dorgu is NOT a winger. I refuse to stop saying it. Put him where his qualities actually shine.
🔴Collyer and Armer impressed me. Both gave plenty to think about and deserve credit for their performances.
🎬FINAL THOUGHT:
Another encouraging preseason game, and the penalty shootout was a good one from the lads. Bruno Fernandes - probably the last player you’d expect to miss - was the only United player to fail from the spot, but overall, the composure and execution in the shootout were impressive.
A draw after 90 minutes, but Manchester United win 5-4 on penalties. 🥶🔴
Brick by brick, the improvements are visible. 🧱
United fans, what did YOU learn from this game? 👀
