@bt_sofia_ai@joshmanders I've built both and they're virtually identical. The only difference is consumers on average are slightly dumber than your b2b users
@playerTwoQ@joshmanders Considering all of their client apps are web-based garbage, the only redeeming quality should be that they can share a large portion of their client-side code without reinventing every time. If that's not true then they've taken on all the cruft for none of the benefit
@adam_fresko@Jonathan_Blow Sure, it took 10 years while building the compiler at the same time. We'll have to see what Jon and team have in store after OotSS now that their tooling is more mature.
@adam_fresko@Jonathan_Blow What feature of a game would require a specific programming language...? Improving tools is for the benefit of the craftsman. If those tools make them more efficient and productive then they can do more with less, but it's rare they make previously impossible things possible.
@Its_Nova1012@neerajjj6785 The only reason github isn't hated more is because they built up a ton of goodwill for a long time. Almost everyone I know hates the version of github we've had for the last few years, we've just given them a pass because "it's github"
@benMN55000@JanisK1953@GoMtnBiking@SandroRiedmann@klara_sjo I don't, so maybe I'm just not where this is as much of a problem. Most of the time I see this is on the interstate where people see the lane is blocked a few hundred feet ahead, start merging, and inevitably some drivers jet to the front of the line to create a second zipper
@benMN55000@JanisK1953@GoMtnBiking@SandroRiedmann@klara_sjo I almost never see this. You'll get a few people merging early, but most of the time people start merging within sight of the blocked lane. If you zip forward a few hundred feet because there happens to be space you're creating more friction and people will be annoyed
@JanisK1953@GoMtnBiking@SandroRiedmann@klara_sjo Once you've reduced to one lane, you've already incurred the delay. Whether it happens at the last second or not does virtually nothing in terms of efficiency. Skipping the first merge and creating a second one, however, does slow everyone behind you down. Making you the asshole
