This comparison is factually false.

For debates sake, if we would say that both Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Arabi have been misread by some of their followers, the comparison breaks down when examining their methodologies, scholarly contributions, and standing among the scholars of Islam.

Ibn Taymiyyah was a scholar of Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul, Arabic language, and Aqeedah whose works were built upon evidence, transmitted texts, and the methodology of the Salaf. His scholarship was praised by leading scholars across generations, including many who disagreed with him on certain issues.

Ibn Arabi, on the other hand, became known primarily for mystical philosophy and doctrines such as Wahdat al-Wujud, which is clearly Kufr.

A friend of mine travelled to the West recently and went to pray at a mosque there. He told me the khutbah started normal, then slowly became political and started talking about jihad. He literally said: “I can see how people here get radicalized hearing this stuff.” He got up and left halfway through.

This is exactly why the UAE and other GCC countries regulate mosques through Ministries of Awqaf. It’s not about “controlling religion” it’s about stopping religious spaces from turning into political recruitment centers.

The Muslim Brotherhood mastered this years ago: mix religion with politics, build grievance narratives, then slowly create ideological loyalty.

The West keeps viewing this as “freedom of speech” Gulf countries view it as national security.

However, the road from Chairing cross till motorway turn( 26 No) needs particular attention. The road right before the turning for motorway is broken, full of potholes and seems to be out of control of authorities with traffic moving haphazardly, loader rickshaws/ buses/ taxis stopping in the middle of the road. Needs immediate attention, please.
