Former Mossad Official: “Turkey Is Becoming the New Center of Gravity for Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood”
Oded Ailam, former head of the Counter-Terrorism Division at the Mossad and a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs, warns that Turkey is gradually becoming the primary regional hub for Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. According to Ailam, Israel should not be deterred from conducting covert operations on Turkish soil. “They cannot be allowed to feel untouchable or enjoy immunity there,” he said. Ailam stressed that the only consideration should be operational, as Ankara is increasingly positioning itself openly as a leading force within the region’s Islamist camp.
Looking at the broader Middle East, Ailam believes that Gulf states are moving even closer to Israel in response to the growing influence of Iran and Turkey, while Saudi Arabia is drifting away from the Abraham Accords and toward an axis led by Turkey and Qatar. He also warned about Qatar’s expanding influence within the Trump administration. “The Qatari connection is growing stronger, and ultimately Israel is the one paying the price,” he said. According to Ailam, economic and business interests linked to individuals close to the American president are playing an increasingly significant role in shaping Washington’s regional policy.

#Syria: An Egyptian Salafi Terrorist in Syria Apparently Holds More Power Than Damascus University
We had felt cautiously hopeful when Damascus University released a statement banning any events or activities on campus without prior approval and emphasizing the need to protect the academic environment. That announcement came just one day after Al-Dhahabi’s campaign there.
Then the jihadist known as “Al-Dhahabi Al-Dhahabi” posted several messages claiming he had already secured the necessary approvals and was preparing more Salafi "dawa" campaigns, including efforts to promote the niqab in Syrian universities. At this point it’s difficult to know who is being dishonest, the university, or whether this man’s authority, granted by the Syrian jihadist regime, truly carries more weight than the universities themselves.
It seems the interim president can change the color of his tie and suit as often as he likes, but he is not changing his jihadist Salafi core. He appears intent on reshaping the entire Syrian Sunni community around the same extremist ideology.
#TurkeyWatch🇹🇷: Turkey's "hunger threshold" — the minimum monthly cost for a family of four to put food on the table — has hit 48,043 liras.
That's nearly double the minimum wage.

While the United States celebrates Independence Day on July 4, 2026, Iran has deliberately scheduled the funeral ceremony of its Supreme Leader Ali khamenei for the same day. According to my sources, the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba khamenei will attend the ceremony and make his first major public appearance since his father’s death.
Iran’s leadership reportedly intends to use the event to send a message to the United States. They want to portray themselves as having emerged victorious from their confrontation with America and to argue that, after 250 years of dominance, the American empire is entering a period of decline following its conflict with Iran.
At the same time, the ceremony is expected to serve as a symbolic transfer of power. By publicly presenting the new Supreme Leader—the son of the deceased leader—Iran aims to project continuity, strength, and stability, while showcasing a new figure who is expected to consolidate control over the country’s political and security institutions.
Trump hands Erdoğan a huge win. Halkbank case involving helping Iran evade sanctions via multi billion dollar oil for gold scheme is dismissed. https://t.co/oNlcVuRzIW
