Who decided this policy? When was it debated in Parliament? When did the electorate vote for it?
We cannot carry on being run by activist judges who legislate from the bench.
Why just the 18 Gazans? Why don't we offer a home to all 2.3 million people in Gaza? And give them all free houses and benefits. Let's just get this self-destructive descent into hell over with quickly.
(Although how there are still 2.3 million people alive and living in Gaza after all that, y'know, "genocide" remains one of the world's great mysteries.)
This is a shocker. A mother of three from Gaza who came to the UK as a refugee has just won a human rights challenge to bring in 18, yes18, of her relatives - both parents, a brother, his wife and four children, a sister and her four children and another sister, her husband and their three children.
None of them speak English and the mother only has room to house her parents with the rest taking up social housing away from British families.
Not to mention the the cost of the 18 filling our schools and NHS clinics.
Plus the signal it gives tens of thousands of Palestinian families that the UK courts are an easy touch and they should head here.
Another bloody awful and costly decision by our courts. Labour won’t do anything about it as they look on the people as Labour voters of the future.
@PunishedRWR Between my wife and I with the increase in state retirement age we have lost 9 years combined pension receipts on today’s figures that’s £112,500 we have “sacrificed” we didn’t have latte, weekend jaunts to Europe, sky, latest mobile, new cars etc but get Gen Z working.
The state pension is not a benefit.
It is one side of a verbal contract stated thousands of times by successive governments that if you pay National Insurance over your working life you will receive a state pension when you retire.
Hose pipe bans eh?
The U.K. hasn’t built a new reservoir in 20 years
In that time, 12,000,000 extra people have come to live here.
It’s really not rocket science, is it?
It was the middle of the night, at about 1.30am, when Norway lost to England.
Yet thousands of Norwegians went to the Palace in Oslo and celebrated with one final Viking row.
They did not riot. They did not burn cars. They did not smash bus stops or glass windows of shops.
They smiled. The laughed. They saw the positive in their performance. They celebrated their heritage. They were proud of who they have been in the past and who they are today.
Norway might be out of the World Cup 2026 but they are in our hearts.
In the last three weeks, I think we have all fallen a little bit in love with Norwegians.
Russia has been barred from competing in the Olympics since they started a war in Ukraine. Nothing has changed. It’s an absolute disgrace the IOC would clear them to compete while Putin continues to bomb Ukrainian cities and hold their land.
@bphillipsonMP@TheNewsAgents That chip on your shoulder must get you down at times. Dragging the elite down doesn’t solve problems as the scrapping of grammar schools proved.
Twelve arrested over threat to Islamic event . How to distract from Ann widdicombe? Care to bet it really wasn’t a credible threat? Some pissed up Neanderthals thought of waving a flag or something https://t.co/w6Ka33gJMu
I'm confused. If immigrants are such an economic benefit to the UK, working in vital jobs and paying tax, why on earth would they need to claim any benefits? 🤷🏻♀️
