H.E. Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows:

On Friday, February 13, 2026, the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) facilitated the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) to welcome His Excellency General ROMEO S BRAWNER JR, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, who visited several locations in Banteay Meanchey Province. At 10:00 a.m., the delegation visited CLG TS-2 in Serey Sophon. On that occasion, Colonel MOHD FARID BIN MOHD YUSOP, Head of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) in Cambodia, also delivered a briefing to His Excellency the Chief of Staff and the delegation the progress of their work.

It is noteworthy that His Excellency General ROMEO S BRAWNER JR, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, led a delegation to pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia for 4 days, from February 11 to 14, 2026. During His Excellency General, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippine visit to the Kingdom is aiming to evaluate and review the preparations for reviewing and receiving the role to lead the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) in 2026, upon the forthcoming handover from Malaysia.

It is also important to emphasize that Cambodia has always provided full support to the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) mechanism and emphasizes the indispensable importance of strengthening the role and mandate of the AOT to verify and ensure the full and effective implementation of the ceasefire, aiming to promote transparency, accountability, and mutual trust.

H.E. Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, the Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to inform the public, both domestic and international media outlets, of the following:

On the afternoon of January 27, the Secretariat of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) convened at the Poipet International Border Checkpoint, between Cambodia's 5th Military Region and Thailand’s 1st Army Area. The Cambodian delegation was led by Major General Sar Kimpak, Chief of the RBC Secretariat (Cambodia), while the Thai delegation led by Major General Phittayakool Pothisuwan, Chairman of the RBC Secretariat (Thailand). During the session, both sides discussed key agendas and exchanged documentation in preparation for the upcoming Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand RBC, scheduled for January 29, 2026.

This meeting was conducted in accordance with the spirit of the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) held on December 27, 2025. The primary objective is to ensure the full and effective implementation of the Joint Statement, foster mutual trust, and maintain peace and stability along the border to facilitate a return to normalcy.

It is also worth noting that the RBC Secretariat meeting is scheduled from January 27 to 28, 2026, under the observership of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) of Cambodia and Thailand.

The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia would like to inform the public as well as members of national and international media that: on the morning of January 15, 2026, the Secretariat of the Regional Border Committee (RBC) Cambodia–Thailand, between Military Region 4 of the Cambodian side and Army Area 2 of the Thai side, held a meeting at the Choam-Sa Ngam International Point of Entry, Anlong Veng District, Oddar Meanchey Province.

The Cambodian Secretariat was led by Brigadier General Nit Narong, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 4, while the Thai Secretariat was led by Major General Kampanat Waphansu, Chief of Staff of Army Area 2. Both sides held discussions on a number of important matters concerning the strengthening of the implementation of the contents of the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) held on December 27, 2025, as well as other relevant documents.

The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to reaffirm our firm, resolute, and sincere commitment to faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) dated December 27, 2025; the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand dated October 26, 2025; and other relevant documents, with the aim of seeking a peaceful, just, and lasting solution in accordance with international laws, as well as existing treaties and agreements between the two countries.

The State Secretariat of Border Affairs (SSBA) has the honor to inform compatriots and the general public that, pursuant to the Agreed Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand Joint Commission on Demarcation for Land Boundary (JBC) dated 22 October 2025 in Chanthaburi, Thailand, and the Joint Declaration of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) dated 27 December 2025 at Prum International Point of Entry (Pailin, Cambodia) – Ban Pak Kard (Chanthaburi, Thailand), the Joint Commission on Demarcation for Land Boundary – JBC (Cambodian Side) has sent a diplomatic note to the JointCommission on Demarcation for Land Boundary – JBC (Thai Side) proposing to convene an urgent and special meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand Joint Commission on Demarcation for Land Boundary – JBC during the first week of January 2026 in Siem Reap, in order to discuss and continue survey and demarcation work.
