Hiya! I'm Sol☀️. I draw and write. Dunk&Egg pulled me back into ASOIAF this year.
HEADS UP, I'M PRO-FICTION🍋🌈 and ship #dunkegg when Egg's older. My stuff can be read as romantic or platonic since I adore them under any dynamic, but keep this in mind. Block/Mute and move on.
Like I know this isn’t the point if you’re already pro-fiction, but Egg’s only a kid for what, 5/10-12 books? He dies with Dunk when he’s 59. The classic anti-Obikin “he raised him” pseudo-incest argument doesn’t even work here because it’s GAME OF THRONES. Fork found in kitchen!
Lil shower thought before bed but I'm still surprised dunkegg is so controversial even outside of proship. Like as a Star Wars main it's basically just the Obikin of ASOIAF ships for me. And they have a smaller age gap than them too LMAO.
Egg in the novellas so far is super proud of his Targaryen heritage, but he’s also kinda bigoted towards the smallfolk (y’know, the people he literally burns for). I really wonder how his relationship as a prince that’s more Dornish than Valyrian will change as he gets older.
Egg being the Targaryen equivalent of a white-passing mixed kid is so important to me actually. His entire narrative arc as squire-prince-king is basically one huge identity crisis and him being diaspora on top of that adds so many layers to his character.
But he’s also never been beyond The Red Mountains until Dunk took him to squire, and even then, TSS opens AFTER their adventures in Dorne (*sobs*)
His older brother is a Targ-supremacist and his lifelong opps are somehow even more racist than his own family —
Hiya! I'm Sol☀️. Dunk&Egg fully pulled me back into ASOIAF this year.
Heads up, I DO ship these two once Egg's soft-boiled🥚. All my stuff can be read as romantic or platonic since I adore them under any dynamic. But just know that I do ship #dunkegg. Block/mute and move on.
