The Solace Foundation of Orange County is committed to reducing the number of opioid-related deaths by expanding access to the overdose reversal drug naloxone.
This father lost his son to opioids -- now he's calling on Attorney General Merrick Garland to pursue an investigation and criminal charges against members of the Sackler family, none of whom have been charged with any crime @Dannystrong and @ejb1893 discuss
Your grief journey is unique to you. And that means that it is something you will take at your own pace, in your own time. However you’re feeling today, it’s exactly where you need to be. https://t.co/aVDYGgARDK
When someone you love is grieving, usually what they need more than anything is for someone to listen to what they’re feeling and tell them that their feelings are normal. https://t.co/oCv1Zde1x8
When someone you know is grieving a death loss, often the most supportive thing you can do is listen. Hold space for them while they process what they’re feeling, and offer a shoulder to cry on should they need it. https://t.co/FXE26i9NND
Not everyone will understand what you’re going through, or even how to #support you through it. Surround yourself with the people who get it, and who can offer you the type of support you need most, right now.
@JVreaux I felt immense pressure to 'get over it' When I lost my mum maybe because I made them uncomfortable and they were trying to 'fix' it. You do not fix grief, you sit there & be there, just be there!
@JVreaux Some people just aren't resilient. My twin sister never recovered from her brain on fire; fell into deep depression and tried drowning her pain with pills. My girls and I found her dead 5/30/20 from accidental overdose. I always got mad at her for it. And now so much guilt.
In order to feel, we have to #heal. Sometimes that means acknowledging that things are hard instead of telling everyone that we are fine. It’s okay to not always be okay.
