Baba Adeboye has publicly apologized for a statement he made years ago regarding tithing.

He once claimed that those who do not tithe will go to hell, but he has now come forward to clarify and set the record straight.

We would like to highlight the significance of this act by Baba Adeboye:

It reveals the humility of his heart and his attitude towards God—

that the truths of the Bible are supreme, above any man, regardless of class, title, or influence.

It shows that Baba Adeboye is committed to ensuring that God's word alone builds His people in the knowledge of His will.

This is why he is now apologizing for making a statement that the Bible never made.

In fact, he said, "I'm sorry, that's wrong, that's not in the Bible."

In our opinion, this single act may have done more for the outlook of the Christian faith in Nigeria than many of his sermons.

It reestablishes and reinforces in the hearts of millions of Christians that the Bible is authoritative over any belief we may hold contrary to it, no matter how long or dearly we’ve held those beliefs.

What a noble man.
What a noble preacher.
What a noble father.

Finally, we want to use this moment to emphasize something we have often said about preachers:

No preacher is infallible. They can make mistakes. We should not impose infallibility on them.

Only God, who is omniscient, is infallible. If you know everything, you cannot make mistakes or be wrong.

In conclusion, let us all learn from and adopt the humility of Baba Adeboye—a man who bows before the majesty of the word of God.

No matter what we believe, have held, or have taught about the Bible, when the truth of the Bible comes to light, let us abandon our former views and honor the Word.

May the Lord continue to be with Baba Adeboye as He has always been, in Jesus’ name.

May RCCG, the church of God, flourish in the light of His grace, in Jesus’ name.

@jay_mikee I actually love his character, he is what I would call a kingdom influencer. He wanted to use the influence he had over Makin to get him off "his sister" but because he is still a new convert this was bound to happen. I think he should be watched out for as a radical Christian.
