If you believe that men can present femininely and experience misogyny, do you also believe that women who present masculinely can opt out of misogyny?
if you don’t think it’s socialization then why do men account for the VAST MAJORITY of violent and sexual crimes? if you want us to just say ur evil i’m cool w that 👌🏼
@burrito_babble Literally that women being natural...is just women being natural and isn't inherently masculine. I'm not sure where you pulled that I said women can't be anything they want or how you got anything about trans men from that tweet
This is about the radfems on here who shame girls who wear makeup or shave or date men. Like yes, obviously those things are anti-feminist in nature--but shouldn't you want to help those girls break away from that? What good is bullying them gonna do
Actually I don't see the point in treating radical feminism like some exclusive club you can only join if you do this thing or don't do that thing. Isn't RF for the benefit of all women? We should be encouraging more women to take part in it, even if their approach isn't perfect
@postnuclearjoan Maybe try PangoBooks? It's people selling their books so you can get it secondhand :) and I read MYORAR and just finished Eileen, Lapvona is next on the list!
@coffynotcoffee I mostly like to read very disturbing books, so look into the content of all of these before you decide to read any of them 😅 but my biggest recommendations would be My Dark Vanessa, Play it as it Lays, Eileen by Otessa Moshfegh, Sharp Objects, and Bunny by Mona Awad
It's disturbing how an increasing number of young women think that not wearing makeup or shaving or wearing dresses makes you "masculine." Female masculinity is absolutely a thing but simply existing in your natural state as a woman is not inherently masculine
@swearysnork@selmaher12 There is a masculine aesthetic that a lot of women feel connected to. I personally know plenty of women who consider themselves to be masculine/masculine of center/transmasculine/etc. That's what I was referring to
@Iipsonherbody That being said, I do believe that every woman deserves access to rad feminism and everything in life is a learning and relearning process. So while I think that being a dedicated radfem involves denouncing men, I would never exclude a het-partnered woman from exploring feminism
@Iipsonherbody Even being friends with men requires this. You may think you found a "good one" but at the end of the day, men will be men. Participating in relationships with them forces you to ignore this and that is directly in contradiction with the most basic beliefs of radical feminism
