The move is finally happening π΅βπ« found the kiddo and I a duplex in a quiet neighborhood near his school. Goodbye loud neighbors above and below! Now to try and find someone to take over the last of my lease so I don't owe the lease breaking fee......
My almost 9yo got up extra early this morning, got himself breakfast, and I woke up an hour later to him watching kpop demon hunter fan edit music videos on youtube.
Jesus, when did my kid grow up so much?
So uuhhhh.....
Not dead just sleeping? Been thinking about this account and the parenting space again.
Life is pretty good, if stressful, atm. Finances - stable. Kid - growing like a weed. Me - doing pretty damn good if I'm honest, and transition has been real kind to me.
I don't know how to help him anymore. My ex has a personal issue with our daycare provider so I don't know what he's doing to support him and I'm doing my best to help him work thru his feelings, but he's struggling so much. I'm exhausted and I would like school to start again.
Summer daycare has been a HUGE struggle this year. My kid is NOT happy there and it's clearly not a great fit, but I don't have any other options until school starts.
The first words out of his mouth when he opened his eyes today were "I wish I didn't have daycare today".
I'm 3+ years on T now, making strides to reconnect with the family who will talk with me. Lost my granddad in February (mixed feelings about that) and have gotten closer with my mom and older brother. Settling into a community and life I'm building here, slowly but surely.
Oh hey, yearly check in, I guess? I really want to start using this account again but I've been in burnout/trauma recovery for the last few years now and keeping up with anything that's not immediately in front of me is hard π
So here's what's new:
Kiddo had a rough year in school with a bully whom the school did very little about and ex and I had to fight the principal to get kiddo away from the bully. Kiddo has been having a tough year in general, but we're doing our best to learn how to manage things in n a healthy way.
@emi_phemera Thank you! I've been trying to incorporate more color into my wardrobe by buying nice colorful yarn that I have to use bc I don't have anything else π
My fiber arts special interest is full blown in the forefront again. I've bought so mucb yarn lately π¬ but I'm almost done with the sweater I started a few months back! One and a half sleeves left
Sometimes I watch my kiddo bargain and plead and express disappointment in trying to get my ex to play with him while my ex tries to convince a 6yo to play what HE wants and finds other things to do BEFORE he can sit down and play and it breaks my heart
@IMomalogues It's a regular occurrence these days π I hope the parenting schedule we settle on doesn't set him up with too much of that kind of thing
