@artguy @deepsync The Solartab C is mainly used to charge via the solar panel. When in need of an AC adapter, you can use the one that came with your phone / tablet / ebook reader. The changes made to the finished product are minimal and insignificant compared to what we envisioned in the campaign

@artguy @deepsync The solar panel is still water resistant and has been verified by our QC company to be so. We did not want to put plastic plugs in the ports on the Solartab C and our manufacturer was unfortunately unable to reliably make the ports on the production version so.

@artguy @deepsync The battery in every unit should be as advertised. We have verified this by 3rd parties (we have to, for large scale shipping etc and random QC samples). Keep in mind that not all batteries charge as efficiently as they optimally could, which is one possible source of the problem

@artguy @deepsync The statement “do not resemble the item we all pledged for” is at best an extreme exaggeration. We thoroughly quality controlled the Solartab C before commencing shipping. We are shipping a high quality product that matches our ambitious vision for our dream solar charger.

@artguy @deepsync Those having problems with charging the Solartab C via the solar panel will receive replacements. These replacements will be sent using a better shipping method. The fact that they’re malfunctioning is believed to be due to damage during transport.

@artguy @deepsync It is not correct that the Solartab C doesn’t charge. All units we tested charged successfully via the sun, and successfully charged USB units such as iPhones and USB-C units such as the Nintendo Switch. Some backers report it charges correctly, others report having problems.
