Breaking News: Clive Davis, a music industry titan who guided the careers of stars like Whitney Houston and Barry Manilow, died at 94. https://t.co/GPVbnHG9x7
I've covered box office results literally hundreds of times in my career. The mind-blowing success of "Backrooms" and "Obsession" this weekend easily ranks in the top 1% as far as long-term significance for the movie business. My story w/ @johnjurg: https://t.co/rknlAhFvbG
Looking like "Backrooms," a movie based on an Internet meme, will open to $70 million-plus this weekend. Hard to understate what a huge deal that would be for a movie business that's been obsessed with corporate-managed IP as the only reliable way to get butts in seats.
Not sure why there are all these jokes today about a name for a P+/HBO Max streaming service when SkydanceParamountViacomCBSTimeWarnerBrosDiscoveryHBOMaxGoNowPlus is staring them right in the face.

In the next decade, Warner-Discovery and Skydance-Paramount’s accumulated debt forced them to sell again, and they’re bought by either any of these three companies:
- Universal/Comcast
- Amazon
- Netflix
- Disney
My ideal guess would be Universal.
I cannot stress enough that there are brands that have a strategic advantage by surprising viewers with their ads tonight.
So many ads have already been deconstructed to pieces and brands that didn't release early get to surprise millions en masse and leave a lasting impression.
Your TikTok is not being censored.
The app is down.
The NFL has posts from yesterday with zero views.
If you believe they bought TikTok for $14 billion and would willingly pull the plug on the whole app for 36+ hours then sure, I guess you're being censored.
