@dyereliz@nellkduke @OkheeLee_ @TanyaSWright@ameliagotwals all convincingly make a case here that science practices engage multiple literacy practices. Win-win. Let’s make that time & support Ts too. #ngsschat https://t.co/teEe8jsuSX
@NGSS_tweeps Fix spaces not people is one thing I try to prioritize. So I am constantly looking for ways to help Ts co-construct norms of argumentation WITH students. @OpenSciEd is one example, & have seen this in similar work with younger students too! @SOLIDStartTeam1
Thank you to @TanyaSWright@ameliagotwals and Amber for helping to grow our staff’s knowledge around SOLID Science! We appreciated time to ask questions and take a look at the next unit! #SOLIDscience#OneHowell

*admin* We are so grateful to the @SOLIDStartTeam1 lead by @TanyaSWright and @ameliagotwals for taking over last week to bring forward a convo around sci & lit in early elementary. Thanks for showing the why and the how: the research and resource. It was a great week!
A favorite @SOLIDStartTeam1 K unit is "Boxcar Challenge" where students watch a video of a soapbox derby, build model boxcars, and ask how they can make boxcars go fast and far. Find this unit and others at https://t.co/cxujC5z91E. @ameliagotwals@TanyaSWright@KirstenDEdwards
Distance Learning Tip of the Day: Using everyday materials is important so families are more likely to have them at home. For example, building the boxcar with paper, tape and small matchbox cars. Then make a ramp out of whatever is around! @SOLIDStartTeam1@KirstenDEdwards#NGSS
