A lot to unpack here, but here's the summary: the Trump administration backed out of the Paris Agreement, basically saying we don't care about emissions. We're going to keep digging and burning fossil fuels. They then hired millionaire Duffy straight out of an interest group representing big airlines that donated to Trump's campaign. They then entered into negotiations with Saudi Arabia and Russia regarding oil. The two main results are that wealthy Americans in the transportation business stay wealthy and shareholders in such entities take fewer losses in periods of low prices.

The wealthy stay wealthy, we ramp up pollution, and the consumer basically sees no change on the ground level while America continues to fall behind in energy innovation as we embrace old money and fossil fuels.

Ultimately, wealthy interest groups are driving our government.
