@the__details__ These are typical political jobbers and miscreants. They do not represent Enugu. The state is currently witnessing a situation where the current government was believed to be progressive when they came in but they're very disappointing. Instead of trying, they hired PR bots.
@sodiqomoogbon01@Fresh_Josh@ChairmanHKN How old are you to be doing this rubbish? You don't have parents, siblings or friends? Just putting Nigerians in the bad light. You could even send DMs instead of disgracin yourself.
@utd_Lucid @UtdBart We are a chaotic team, Casemiro is finished (good aerially) but the biggest problem is that Carrick is not detailed with his tactics. For a midfielder that people thought is underrated, his understanding of the game is average.
@SeyiFamodun @ManUtd I can tell you for free it's tactics. We are always lethargic and players on their heels. Carrick is not detailed with his tactics and that's we can't win anything major.
"Ronaldo, in his current iteration, is largely useless unless Portugal sustain pressure and he can poach in the box" What a myopic POV. Ronaldo's movement and one touch play is still a threat. Neto, Silva are not it attacking wise. Dalot is better to overlap and stretch the pitch
As much as Roberto Martinez found balance with his team selection last night, Portugalโs front 4 are not elite in transition.
Bernardo, Bruno, Neto, Ronaldo.
They are good, but Bernardo is largely redundant in the same XI as Neves and Vitinha. Theyโre all very similar. He is elite at giving his team control, but when you rely on him for creativity or goals then you begin to realise that he is limited in transition or against low blocks (like รdegaard).
That leaves much of the creative and goalscoring burden on Bruno, Neto, and Ronaldo. Netoโs presence is imperative because he stretches the pitch and runs beyond with speed when everyone else in attack lacks that quality, but he lacks elite quality. Ronaldo, in his current iteration, is largely useless unless Portugal sustain pressure and he can poach in the box. He doesnโt offer anything in transitions or in the defensive moment (at least reliably) even if he is still an elite threat in the box itself.
Cancelo and Mendes do their best to run beyond from deep, and that can work against low blocks, but itโs the transitions against the elite teams that take control away from Portugal technically and make it a 50/50 game that worries me with them.
Plus, as we saw yesterday, Portugal are not especially competent at breaking down low blocks either despite that (even though Congo were mediocre with their tactical approach and passive game-plan). Portugal lack 1v1 qualities and are overly reliant on Bruno for creativity and the fullbacks for penetrating runs.
Martinez could risk using Leao but he doesnโt defend so having both him and Ronaldo in the same team makes Portugal vulnerable defensively.
Conceicao came on for Bernardo at half-time which was a good change because he is a much better creator in the offensive moment, but issues still lay elsewhere.
Combine these factors with the fact that Portugal donโt excel at stepping up in the mid-block to apply effective pressure on the ball and it becomes one too many reasons as to why they are not favoured to win the World Cup UNLESS Martinez can create better dynamics in each moment, but itโs hard to see how he does that with the squad at his disposal.
