#Eritrea: Longstanding Commitment to the Empowerment of Women
*"...Eritrea has recorded advances in several areas associated with women’s well-being and participation. Figures cited by national and international organizations indicate progress in financial inclusion, business activity, education, and representation. For example, life expectancy has risen from fewer than 50 years in 1991 to approximately 72 years. Women’s participation in the national microcredit and savings scheme has also increased significantly. According to national estimates, women account for approximately 56 percent of beneficiaries, compared with around 16 percent in 1995".
*"...Women have also established a substantial presence in business and professional life. Available national figures indicate that they hold approximately 48 percent of business licenses nationwide, constitute around 51 percent of the formal labour force, and occupy roughly 46 percent of managerial positions".
*"...Of course, the improvements highlighted above do not automatically eliminate all obstacles. Social expectations, unequal access to resources, and differences in opportunities among communities can continue to affect women’s experiences. Sustained education, effective implementation of rights, and accessible support services remain important to consolidating progress".
*"...Overall, the story of the NUEW is inseparable from the story of Eritrean women: their courage during the struggle for independence, their contributions to nation-building, and their continuing efforts to advance dignity, opportunity, and equality. Through its longstanding commitment to education, advocacy, and empowerment, the Union remains an important part of Eritrea’s ongoing journey toward a society in which women’s rights are respected, their capabilities recognized, and their contributions fully valued.

This is what happens when you refuse to sell your sovereignty.
First, they accuse you. Pay proxies to fight you. Then defame you. Dehumanize you. Sanction you. Block your opportunities.
Then comes the masterpiece: They blame YOU for the damage, lecture you about failure, and accuse you of isolation.
More pressure. More accusations. More demonization. Rinse and repeat.
And after all that, they have the audacity to ask:
“When will Eritrea come in from the cold?”
Come in WHERE? Into your puppet show? To kneel and call it diplomacy?
Eritrea endured it all. And today, those who tried to isolate it find themselves having to cooperate, not out of generosity, but because their own interests demand it.
Does that mean our work is done? FAR FROM IT.
We must work harder, build more, be active, open up, engage with the world and move forward with dignity. Never forgetting what we sacrificed to get here.
We don't reject cooperation. We reject subordination.
And we must NEVER allow anyone to drag us back into that colonial master-slave mentality.
We paid too high a price for our sovereignty to put it up for sale. 🇪🇷
Don’t they know? 🇪🇷 EVERY ERITREAN IN THE DIASPORA IS A DIPLOMAT.
Not all carry titles, but every conversation, every encounter, and every public stance shapes how Eritrea is perceived.
Grassroots Diplomats at their very best.
🌍 🇪🇷 Eritrea has a voice wherever Eritreans stand
This was Ali Said Abdella’s response to a BBC journalist in 1978 after the Ethiopian government received over $13 billion in Soviet arms in an attempt to eliminate the EPLF once and for all. Eritrea is not intimidated by empty bravado or massive military parades.#Assab

Potemkin Party officials and trolls have this appalling propensity and despicable political culture of manufacturing lies on a daily basis in virtually all domains - history, diplomatic events, "casualties they have inflicted" in phantom battles with EDF etc.
The video clip below claiming that Italian PM "has condemned Eritrea" - (total fabrication/photoshopped from an original speech by the PM on the Italian Government's domestic plans for the elderly) - is another vivid instance of their routine and preposterous lies!
Wonder what the underlying reason is? Perhaps it can be explained by the Syndrome: "ሜስ'ሲ ንዘይፈልጦ የጥርጦ!"

Abiy and his supporters are now openly comparing Eritrea to Gaza. Abiy himself cites the Golan Heights as a model for “buffer zones.” This is not nationalism. This is mimicry—borrowing the language of occupation to justify seizing a neighbor’s territory.
It is also a confession. What Abiy is doing inside Ethiopia—massacres, drone strikes on civilians, forced displacement, starvation—is genocide. He is now exporting that same genocidal playbook to Eritrea. This is not defense. It is extermination dressed as security.
He thinks if he wraps his war in someone else’s rhetoric, the world will look away. They won’t. Eritrea is not Gaza. Assab is not the Golan. The world must name it: genocide in Ethiopia, aggression against Eritrea, and a leader in Addis Ababa who has turned the Ethiopian military into a weapon of foreign patrons and domestic terrorists.
Side note: I saw an Eritrean happily interview Kjetil Tronvoll. He has a checkered history of these sorts. Notice the timing and the subject matter. It is timed to gaslight Eritreans into changing focus—and some do. Eritreans must see that interview as part of the same information war. Treat it as such.
