The security of the Horn of Africa is under serious threat from Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki.

He is the person responsible for what is currently happening in Sudan 🇸🇩. He is also the one responsible for Somalia 🇸🇴 not achieving lasting peace, and he is the reason why stability remains elusive in South Sudan. Furthermore, he is accused of undermining the peace and stability of Djibouti.

Therefore, Ethiopian Prime Minister @AbiyAhmedAli and the President of Kenya @WilliamsRuto have a responsibility to safeguard peace in the Horn of Africa.

If lasting peace is to be achieved in the Horn of Africa, Isaias Afwerki must be held accountable for his actions in the region.

The legal proceedings against 1,655 Ethiopian nationals who had been imprisoned in Saudi Arabia have been dropped, and they have been granted a royal pardon. 🇪🇹🤝🇸🇦

Ethiopia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that, “through intensive diplomatic efforts coordinated by its mission in Riyadh and the consulate office in Jeddah, the trials of 1,655 Ethiopian citizens detained in Saudi Arabia have been halted, and a pardon has been issued in their favor”.

The Ministry noted that this outcome reflects the government's commitment to citizen-centered diplomacy in its foreign relations. It also stated that, from the perspective of such diplomacy, it continues to monitor other issues in Saudi Arabia that require broader diplomatic engagement.

In addition, the government urged the public to protect themselves from false promises and deceptive schemes promoted on social media by human traffickers regarding travel abroad. It also reaffirmed that ongoing efforts to bring human traffickers to justice will be further strengthened.
