EFCC Arraigns Three for Alleged Impersonation of Tunde Ednut, N18.2m Fraud in Abuja
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, October 15, 2026, arraigned the trio of Raymond Charles Yafetus, Auwal Ibrahim and Babangida Yahaya Ibrahim before Justice S. O. Ibrahim of the Federal High Court, Abuja for allegedly impersonating Nigerian blogger and influencer, Tunde Ednut.
They were arraigned on a three count-charge bordering on cybercrime, conspiracy to commit fraud, impersonation and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N18,264,700 (Eighteen Million, Two Hundred and Sixty Four Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira).
Count two reads: “That you Raymond Charles Yafetus, Auwal Ibrahim and Babangida Yahaya Ibrahim (now at large) between April and June 2026 at Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with the intent to defraud, did fraudulently impersonate one Adekunle Tunde Olaoluwa, popularly known as Tunde-Ednut and in that assumed character opened bank account in different banks in Nigeria and you obtained a total sum of N18,264,700 (Eighteen Million, Two Hundred and Sixty Four Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira) from unsuspecting members of the public and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 22(2)(b)(ii) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition Prevention etc) Act 2015 and punishable under Section (22)(b)(iv) of the same Act.
They pleaded “not guilty” to the charges when they were read to them, following which prosecution counsel, Elizabeth Alabi prayed the court for a trial date and remand of the defendants in Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja.
Justice Ibrahim ordered their remand in Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja and adjourned the matter till November 17, 2026.

Honestly I always wanted to invest in the thrift business but the time and energy required to compete with people already in the business is crazy... So I went with @buyinbales where retailers in already established markets sell for me and I get my money complete based on agreemt
@trigottista Army ke, when I have @buyinbales , this is where you can buy a bale of clothes from china and retailers nationwide will handle sales for you to there already existing customers.
@IfeomaIgbotic That causes serious fears about an unstable country, alainces will be quick and Nigeria will break into a tribal war almost immediately...
@Vindicatedchidi If it's possible for things to get worse which it is... What's the average Nigerian going to do. I do not want to be average and I have something to elevate you and I. Just check out @buyinbales
@officialEFCC You should try your best to make sure that petitions receive immediate attention because most people don't have time and genuinely need your help... Infact your hotline personnel said we should go back to your HQ again to resubmit the petition... Just a sad government we live in.
BE PREPARED, You don't know when next it is going to hit.
So two days ago (Tuesdays), I got an unexpected message from a CISO, vCISO, CDPO, Senior Information Security Manager on LinkedIn and yes of course he is a Nigerian.
They were looking for this particular person in their team:
"A cybersecurity professional with a 3-5years experience and a focus in Application Security", and right after I agreed that I am open to it (even though I don't have 3 years experience yet)...
We agreed my availability and then he sent me the Job description for the role, and I must say it was quite a bulky one for a Cybersecurity Officer role specialized in application security. I might share it with the community one day, so you can all see what a typical job of an application security engineer requires/looks like.
Fast forward till yesterday, we had the interview, and it was an intense one for me, probably the one that has tested and stretched my mind so far since I have chosen cybersecurity as a profession.
INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:
The interview was both technically and theorically aligned.. it was cutting across Mobile security, Web security and API Security, also testing how I will communicate my findings with the developers and how we patched the vulnerability.
FIRST QUESTION:
Briefly tell us about yourself. This is a never ending question, you can never escape it, it covers everything you and and what you do.
OTHER QUESTIONS:
- Have you found a security flaw in a web application before? If so, walk me through how you found it and how you communicated with the developer to path it up.
- How do you walkthrough the SDLC when building security controls? This will really test you strength in communication by the way.
- Have you done a mobile assessment in the last 12 months, I said yes, then the next question was, give me a walkthrough on how you perform a mobile security testing. At this point I just talked about my setup and also added @Barrel_HQ
to the stuff. (MY MIND ALMOST WENT BLANK).
- Then went some other questions around API security and the tools I used in testing them.
CONCLUSION:
This was really a tough one as all the interview was within 40mins, yes 40mins, I had to be fast and as clear as possible. This is just a view of what an technical interview can look like for an application security engineer role.
I didn't made mention that your phone number must be in your CV, the interviewer made mention of that, but I haven't been putting my phone contact in my CV except my gmail, so any view on that?
