Shadow MMC: Public Safety, City of Johannesburg. Former Director: Police Performance Monitoring & Evaluation. Worked for Police Minister at SAPS HQ, Pretoria.
Today I visited His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini at Emashobeni Royal Palace, together with our DA leaders, to affirm the DA’s respect for the institution of traditional leadership and its important role in the lives of millions of South Africans. 🇿🇦
My message was that as the DA grows across the country, we will always continue this relationship of respect. Also, that the best way to honour the Zulu nation is to build a country that truly works - where young people can find work, families can live in safety, and children can receive a quality education. That is what the DA will do.
THERE ARE MANY LESSONS to be learned from the return of Liam Jacobs to the DA. While it’s good that he has been welcomed back, I think he should accept that it will take a bit of time for him to be trusted and/or respected in our Party. Otherwise, he remains a friend to me. Ta!
Crime is committed by a tiny minority of criminals, mostly repeat offenders, with absolute impunity. It is only when perpetrators are arrested, prosecuted and imprisoned that crime levels drop. The army will not solve the crime problem, but effective policing certainly will. Ta!
@Face_theNation@TheRealClementM Greetings, Clement. I have huge respect for Dr Mmusi Maimane. But his argument is like suggesting that the performance of the NPA must also include cases that were never reported to the police in the first place. With respect, that’s an absurdity of the highest order. Ta!
@MYANC Then in the next breath you talk about “renewal”. It’s impossible for the ANC to have it both ways - praising ANC leaders who have allegedly committed acts of corruption on the one hand and then making SAn’s believe you are serious about renewal. Alas!! The damage is too huge!!
We must spare a thought for the many incorruptible members of the @SAPoliceService and other law enforcement agencies who are spending Christmas away from their families in service of the people. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to these galant men and women in blue and brown. Ta!
No one, and absolutely no one, has a right to tell SA not to implement its laws, especially its own immigration laws. The time has come for our government to be laser-focused on the restoration of law and order without fear, favour or prejudice. Let’s defend our sovereignty. Ta!
@elonmusk Dear Elon!! Please get a life and live it. This obsession with SA is going to destroy you. It was your choice to be American, despite the fact that your Maker chose SA as your country of birth and upbringing. So, stay American. We, the people of SA, will sort ourselves out. Ta!
✅ The DA’s delivery track record endorsed by Ramaphosa and Mbalula!
"Those municipalities that do best are not ANC-controlled municipalities... they are often DA-controlled municipalities." - ANC President
The DA will continue fighting for you and delivering in government. 🇿🇦
@RediTlhabi That’s what happens when you have a less-than-matriculant as Secretary-General of the largest party in South Africa. The ANC is dying a slow, painful death. It’s only a matter of time before they are completely wiped off and relegated to the dustbin of history. Shame on them!!
@MbalulaFikile Wow!! So, you really don’t know the difference between the words: “Where”, “Were” and “We’re”, Mr Mbalula? And you are working so hard to become the next president of the ANC and that of the Republic? Shame man!! I would be focusing on education, if I were you. But I am not. Ta!
🔴 The DA Johannesburg Mayoral Candidate, Helen Zille, drops the DA’s plans to get the City working again on the latest episode of SMWX.

Let’s chat about Joburg tomorrow morning on radio and TV:
📻RSG - 6h15
📻PowerFM - 7h15
📺SABC Morning Live - 7h40
📻947 - 8h00
As I said, the only job of local government is to deliver quality basic services. Water. Sewage. Refuse removal. Roads. Electricity.

DA holds Ward 56 (Montclair Yellow Wood Park) eThekwini
DA 63% (56%)
MK 22%
ANC 10% (24%)
Rise Mzansi 3%
EFF 1% (6%)
ARA <1%
PRM <1%
Poll: 24% (41%)
Very impressive hold for the DA
They won back all 3 Montclair voting districts which were won by MK in 2024.
@GardeeGodrich A wise man once said it is sometimes better to keep your mouth closed and make everyone believe you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. The DA was formed on June 24, 2000. Apartheid rule ended on April 27, 1994. I don’t know how your brain functions. It’s sad. Ta!
@MbalulaFikile I never thought I would live to see a day when an ANC SG who is also a presidential hopeful celebrates SA’s 0.8% economic growth. Now I understand why the middle class has deserted the ANC and why reputable analysts are agreed that it will get less than 20% in the 2026 LGE. Ta!
@MbekezeliMB@DOJCD_ZA We have had so many Commissions of Inquiry before. It should be easy to find the equipment used by the Zondo Commission instead of procuring new equipment each time we have a new Commission. But comrades must eat. An extension is loading!! That’s how it works in SA. Alas!!
