Sen. Gallego gets it: we need to make it easier to build more homes of all types to give working people more pathways to homeownership. This directly leads to affordability. Thank you for working on the Road to Housing Act!
While homeowners may be shielded from the immediate impacts of the housing crisis, rents remain painfully HIGH for far too many, in spite the slowdown in recent increases. Just to say it plainly: Housing needs to be a TOP priority. https://t.co/rUzc8dmT6i via @azcentral
@YIMBYLAND C’mon - y’all are better than this. This type of rhetoric makes it harder for the rest of us doing pro-housing work in vulnerable communities. Take this sh*t down
Civil legal aid is a lifeline for seniors, veterans, domestic violence survivors, and working people. You never know when you might need legal help and everyone deserves access to justice. We NEED this funding in the state budget!

But "LoCAl CoNTrOL", this was always going to be the outcome of sweeping and anti-homeless ordinances implemented by cities. Yeah but let's keep defending them.
Mesa park rangers allegedly targeted homeless, used racial slurs, shared a ‘Goon Squad’ patch https://t.co/JNU2iCYLf6
I don't understand how progressives consistently vote to uphold Modern-day Jim Crow in the name of "local control". Our built environment will remain inequitable unless we reform exclusionary zoning. https://t.co/20g3V7Udx5
Another stark reminder of the need for land-use reform. Exclusionary zoning makes it impossible to build the affordable housing we need. Sad to see an affordable housing developer sell a site that could've housed our low-income residents

Great to meet Kymberly, an LD 24 resident and @habitatcaz homeowner. Large lot size requirements in cities can be a huge barrier to nonprofit developers like Habitat. I’ll keep fighting for bills like the Starter Homes Act so more people like Kymberly can achieve homeownership.
“The new houses that were built [in Houston] cost an average of $200,000 less than comparable new homes.”
The data can’t be ignored: zoning reform directly leads to more affordable homes.

⚠️ We're in a housing crisis, but Matt Gress says multifamily housing isn’t "sacred." How far is far enough to push affordable homes and renters away from your single-family homes? #HousingIsAHumanRight#YIGBY
Great to hear Gov. Hobbs wants SB 1229 to be negotiated! Here's *some* of what we've negotiated ALL based on feedback from League.
1) Increased Minimum Lot Sizes from 1,500 sq ft to 3,000
2) Removed a provision that prohibited mandatory private streets or roads (continued...)
After home prices and rents skyrocketed over the last five years, it’s no surprise that voters want action. Politicians must have the courage to enact zoning reforms that remove barriers to building more housing of all types including Starter Homes!

So disappointing. Remember this was one of the only housing bills the League supported last year, likely knowing full well that their cities would opt for the bare minimum, like this. 👇🏾
You heard that right! Our homes, our fight!
We’re inviting the community to join us on Saturday, March 8th at 3 PM MST to create change as we highlight what we’ve uncovered while organizing for housing justice in Arizona!

Interesting dichotomy to see a City throw itself a parade for hitting its housing goals when their residents deal with is a housing market that requires over $125k salary to afford the median priced home https://t.co/uBO0WbDBbr via @azcentral
