@RyanShead Hey, why don’t you revolutionize the banking system and electric vehicles in the same lifetime? And while you’re at it, live this incredibly perfect life where you’re able to get a lot of therapy in, while at the same time raising a ton of kids and running multiple companies.
I drive by a Catholic church today, and I realize there is literally a dead man, left in the gruesome way he was just murdered, representing an entire religion. And this is about life? And he’s supposed to free us? This isn’t convincing me.
Does anyone else find this a challenge?
“…the Yaga gives her the grumpy and begrudging stamp of approval…the kind that always comes from old women who have lived a long time and who have seen much, and somewhat wish they hadn’t, and are rather proud they have.”
“Women Who Run With the Wolves”
I thought this was funny
“The end of history illusion is what psychologists call the tendency for people to be keenly aware of how much they’ve changed in the past, but to underestimate how much their personality, desires and goals will change in the future.”
“The Psychology of Money”
“All of us are walking around with the illusion that our personal history has just come to an end. We have just recently become the people who we were always meant to be, and will be for the rest of our lives…”
“The Psychology of Money”
“Psychologist, Danielle Gilbert once said, ‘At every stage of our lives, we make decisions that profoundly influence the lives of the people we will become. And then when we become those people, we’re not always thrilled with the decisions we made.’”

I’m also beginning to understand the patriarchy: they believe it benefits them, and gives them freedom to create this servant class…
“You know what, we will glamorize these people, and then they will accept this life.”
“As swiftly as in a dream, the image of the American woman as a changing, growing individual in a changing world was shattered. Her solo flight to find her own identity was forgotten in the rush for the security of togetherness. Her limitless world shrunk to the cozy walls of home.”
I am listening to Betty Friedan’s “The Feminine Mystique, and I am shocked and humbled by it…
Here are some quotes that stood out to me:
“Career meant more than job. It seemed to mean doing something, being somebody yourself, not just existing in and through others.”
Today my yoga teacher, Bobbi Misiti, said that the ujjayi breathing we do, particularly in Ashtanga yoga, stimulates the vagus nerve, which has a calming effect on the body.
This, I find very interesting…
This morning I called out to my phone, “Hey Siri!”
Only this time, she responded with my name, “Yes, Laura,” in a tone sprinkled with impatience.
I think she was frustrated because I left her on the car again…
The phrase “living one’s best life,” doesn’t just mean a person is killin’ it at life.
It can also be interpreted to mean this is the best life of all the lives they’ve ever had…
