if we wanted to summarize the future of agent payments in a single chart, x402 data would likely be one of the best places to start.

according to @Dune Analytics data, Base, Solana, Polygon, and BNB Chain currently host the largest share of x402 activity, collectively accounting for more than 150 million transactions.

the most important figure on the dashboard, however, is found elsewhere. Across EVM networks, roughly 98.8% of x402 transaction volume has been settled in USDC ( @circle ) . In practice, this suggests that the market has already made its choice, USDC has emerged as the default currency for payments between services, applications, and AI agents.

viewed through this lens, @arc becomes particularly interesting. Although the network is still in testnet, many of its architectural decisions have been built around stablecoins, internet native payments, and the broader concept of an Internet Financial System.
