The @IUEC50 is in active negotiations with NEEA (@koneamericas@schindlerNA@OtisElevatorCo and @TKE_NA) as their current collective agreement approaches expiry at midnight on April 30, 2025. We anticipate a no-strike outcome, given both parties committed to reaching settlement.
The Collective Agreement with the International Union of Elevator Constructors (@IUEC) expired in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This would impact all the major companies (KONE, Otis, Schindler, TK Elevator) that are part of NEEA (National Elevator & Escalator Association).

This is an issue regarding the cracks that develop and not the counterweight sheaves. When doing a five year test (CAT5), the counterweight frames and welds started cracking.
The anticipated @TSSAOntario DIRECTOR’S SAFETY ORDER regarding the Dover counterweight frames is now released. Ref 301/23 require building owners to repair the counterweight frames by April 15, 2024. High-speed #elevators made between 1977 and 1983 with the “U” type crosshead.
