महाराष्ट्र ही केवळ संतांची भूमी नाही, तर विचारांची, समतेची, मानवतेची आणि प्रबोधनाची भूमी आहे. इथे संतांनी धर्माचा अर्थ कर्मकांडात नाही, तर माणुसकीत शोधला.

संत ज्ञानेश्वर यांनी विश्वमानवतेचा विचार मांडला, संत नामदेव यांनी भक्तीला समाजाच्या प्रत्येक घटकापर्यंत पोहोचवले, संत तुकाराम यांनी ढोंगीपणा आणि खोट्या अहंकारावर कठोर प्रहार केला. संत एकनाथ यांनी अस्पृश्यतेविरोधात उभे राहत समतेचा संदेश दिला, तर समर्थ रामदास यांनी आत्मबल, शौर्य आणि संघटन यांचे महत्त्व पटवून दिले. १९व्या शतकात संत भगवानबाबा यांनी शिक्षणाचे महत्व अधोरीखीत केले.

संत निवृत्तीनाथ, संत सोपानदेव, संत मुक्ताबाई यांनी अध्यात्म आणि जीवन यांचा सुंदर संगम घडवला.
संत चोखामेळा, संत गोरोबा कुंभार, संत सावता माळी, संत जनाबाई,संत सेना न्हावी, संत नरहरी सोनार यांनी आपल्या कार्यातून स्पष्ट सांगितले की देव हा जातीपातीच्या चौकटीत नसतो; तो श्रमात, प्रामाणिकपणात आणि माणुसकीत असतो.

संत दामाजीपंत आणि संत दासोपंत यांनी समाजहिताला प्राधान्य दिले. पुढे गाडगे बाबा यांनी अंधश्रद्धा, अस्वच्छता आणि ढोंगीपणावर झाडू फिरवला, तर तुकडोजी महाराज यांनी ग्रामगीतेतून राष्ट्रनिर्माणाचा विचार दिला.

इतकी विशाल आणि प्रगल्भ संतपरंपरा महाराष्ट्रात असताना, जर आज समाजाला माणसामाणसात भेद निर्माण करणाऱ्या, अंधश्रद्धेला खतपाणी घालणाऱ्या किंवा धर्माच्या नावाखाली व्यक्तिपूजा वाढवणाऱ्या भोंदूबाबांच्या प्रवचनांची गरज भासत असेल, तर ही केवळ सांस्कृतिक शोकांतिका नाही तर महाराष्ट्रधर्माच्या मूळ तत्त्वांपासून दूर जाण्याची धोक्याची घंटा आहे.

महाराष्ट्रधर्म म्हणजे कोणत्याही एका जातीचा, पंथाचा किंवा व्यक्तीचा धर्म नव्हे. तो शिव-फुले-शाहू-आंबेडकरांच्या समतेचा विचार आहे. तो वारकरी परंपरेच्या “विष्णुमय जग” या मानवतावादी दृष्टिकोनाचा वारसा आहे. इथल्या संतांनी कधीही द्वेष शिकवला नाही; त्यांनी संवाद, करुणा, समता आणि विवेक शिकवला.

आज काही लोक धर्माच्या नावाखाली समाजात भीती, द्वेष आणि अंधभक्ती निर्माण करण्याचा प्रयत्न करत असतील, तर त्याला विरोध करणे हीच खरी संतपरंपरेची सेवा ठरते.

संत तुकारामांनी म्हटले होते
“जे का रंजले गांजले । त्यासी म्हणे जो आपुले ।”
याच एका ओळीत महाराष्ट्राच्या संतपरंपरेचा संपूर्ण आत्मा दडलेला आहे.

म्हणूनच महाराष्ट्राने गायगपट्यातून आयात झालेल्या ढोंगी अध्यात्मापेक्षा आपल्या संतांच्या विवेकवादी, समतावादी आणि मानवतावादी विचारांकडे पुन्हा वळण्याची गरज आहे. कारण महाराष्ट्राची खरी ओळख ही टाळ-मृदंगातील भक्तीत आहे, पण त्याहून अधिक ती माणसाला माणूस मानणाऱ्या विचारात आहे.

In a viral video, MH Women Commission head Rupali Chakankar is seen washing his feet.

Even if she had no idea about him, how can a Chairperson of State Women Commission wash the feet of any man while showing reverence, even in the name of religion or rituals? She holds a responsible position.

Reportedly, Rupali Chakankar is also a member of a trust where self-styled Godman Kharat serves as president. In another instance, she refers to him as her guru.
