Ongoing : Day 3 of the 5-day entrepreneurship training to improve skills and capacities of marginalized girls. The training is funded by @UNFPA_SOMALIA and is being implemented by @SomaliaTides
Three of the trainings carried out by @SomaliaTides have come to an end:
1.10 days advocacy event with faith based organizations.
2.5 days capacity building workshop for 50 marginalized young women.
3.5 days leadership and management capacity building workshop @UNFPA_SOMALIA
At the final day of the advocacy event of #eliminationofFGM; the religious leaders agreed that in order to #EradicateFGM: 1. The women carrying out #FGM should be educated that this practice is against Islam.
2. The men should also participate in #EradicatingFGM@UNFPA_SOMALIA

Religious dialogue with Islamic scholars & sheikhs including women sheikhs in #Puntland as we support advocacy by faith-based organizations, @SomaliaTides & @MOJRAR_PL towards the elimination of harmful practices including female genital mutilation, #GBV and early marriages
At the advocacy event with faith based organization to #eradicateharmfulpractices; all present agreed to end #GBV by engaging the different backgrounds of the community is traditional/religious leaders, youth, women & social workers all need to rally against #GBV@UNFPA_SOMALIA
We've supported the training of 50 marginalized young women in #Puntland in developing innovative business planning & entrepreneurship development in partnership with Timely Integrated Development services
Ongoing: Day 4 of the capacity building training for the 50 marginalized young women. The participants were trained on book keeping and profit & loss. #womenentrepreneurs#womenempowerment

@bsaid6 from @UNFPA_SOMALIA "We are happy that female religious leaders are taking part in this event. There is a high number of deaths from #FGM due to overbleeding and infections. There are laws that have been brought forward by the government to fight against these practices.
