Following the launch of the SOMA35 project with a celebration of Soma’s enduring catalogue, SOMA35.2 turns its attention to one of the defining releases in Soma Records' history—Surgeon's seminal 1996 EP, Muggerscum Out.

@slam_djs , @LewisFautzi, Justyn Nell, and Nørbak each take a unique approach to reimagining these timeless cuts.

From Birmingham's industrial roots to Glasgow's uncompromising vision, and through today's global techno landscape, SOMA35.2 embodies everything the anniversary project represents: respect for the past, commitment to the future, and a continuing dedication to forward-thinking electronic music.

To celebrate this milestone, we are proud to announce SOMA35 – a specially-curated remix EP series bringing together a selection of the biggest names who have been part of the imprint’s history, alongside exciting new artists whose sound naturally aligns with Soma’s distinct sonic identity and embodies the spirit of the label today.

Launching with SOMA35.1 – our 700th release – the series places a special focus on vinyl, celebrating the format that has been at the heart of Soma since day one – featuring remixes from Mark Broom, @FJAAK , Vril and Linear Phase.

We are deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of our friend and artist, Harvey McKay.

His releases on Soma were an important part of our history, but even more important was the friendship that remained between us through the years.  

Harvey was one of the good guys and he has been taken from this world far too soon. 

Our thoughts are with his family and everyone close to him.

Rest in Power, Harvey.
