Every DEX has its trade-offs. Hyperliquid minimizes cons with elite infra and deep liquidity. Lighter takes a whole new route, merging orderbooks and AMMs with a 0-fee model (which actually comes from their spread).
Now we’re in the DEX wars — just like the AI agent race, it’s all about who nails the narrative. Extended is stepping in strong: built on Starknet, unifying crypto + TradFi assets, high leverage, and capital-efficient margin systems.
If you think Lighter or Extended might be the next breakout, maybe you’re right. But remember — play the narrative, not the project. Find the upside, before it's all over CT.
The perp DEX wars feel pretty similar to the memecoin launchpad wars we saw a few months ago.
Aster, Avantis, Lighter etc attempting to vampire-attack Hyperliquid are no different than the pathetic efforts of LetsBonk, Believe, Heaven etc trying to dethrone PumpFun.
Yes, challenger platforms can temporarily steal market share from incumbents through airdrop incentives and clever marketing. But unless you’re delivering a 100x improvement or an entirely new paradigm, it’s not sustainable. Users will farm you to death while larping as “community members.” As long as they’re making money, they’ll cheer.
But they’ll leave just as quickly.
In the end, liquidity depth and distribution strength always pull users back to the dominant platform. That’s what real defensibility looks like. That’s where moats are built.
That said, every single perp DEX that eats market share from CEXs is a net win for the industry and I’ll always support that shift.
So farm like there’s no tomorrow if you must. Just don’t lie to yourself about the game you're playing.
The spookiest thing this Halloween are the charts 📉👻
Whats NOT spooky is every swap being overcollateralized.
No fear of something going wrong. Pact Swap built in security is handled trustless and automatically.
