I've interviewed presidents, governors, generals, activists and politicians. But sometimes it's the interviews with the families left carrying the emotional burden that stay with you.

A few days ago, I interviewed the lawyer Asiya El-Rufai, wife of former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai. She spoke with the precision of a legal expert and the pain of a spouse.

She didn't ask me to defend her husband. She didn't ask Nigerians to take sides. She spoke instead - quietly but powerfully - about constitutional rights, due process, access to lawyers and doctors, and the emotional toll prolonged detention takes on a family.

It reminded me that behind every politically charged courtroom battle is a human story.

Whatever anyone thinks of Nasir El-Rufai politically, one truth remains: the rule of law only has meaning when it protects people whose politics we may disagree with. That is why due process is not a favour. It is the foundation of democracy.

Power is temporary. The legal precedents we tolerate today may become the standards - and the nightmare - we all live under tomorrow.

An Open Letter to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development

Dear Honourable Minister @fkeyamo,

Attached is a video showing Senator Adams Oshiomhole allegedly breaching airport regulations and engaging in conduct that disrupted public peace. The incident went viral and occurred under your watch, yet there was no public demand for an apology or the imposition of any sanction.

This makes the recent treatment of Mr. Peter Obi difficult to reconcile. CCTV footage indicates that his driver parked in an area without a visible "No Parking" sign, and the video clearly shows that other vehicles were also present in the same location. Yet Mr. Obi appears to be the only individual publicly called upon to apologise and pay a fine.

Sir, this disparity creates the perception of selective enforcement and undermines public confidence in the impartiality of your office.

With respect, I believe the circumstances warrant an apology, not from Mr. Peter Obi, but from your ministry to him, for the appearance of double standards and what many reasonably perceive as a targeted approach.

I spent my time watching the whole video...I have this question to ask you @fkeyamo how more devilish can you people be. You lied and made your narration looked like Peter Obi was guilty, meanwhile the opposite was the case.

1. The driver did not pack the vehicle close to the entrance. As a matter of fact, 2 vehicles were even packed behind him

2. The man that came to clamp the tyre was standing at a distance looking for the perfect time to come and clamp the tire. He was watching while the driver was parking. If you people dnt have a evil agenda, the man should have directed him not to park there if that place was even a wrong place to park in the first place.

3. You said Peter Obi claimed that there were other offenders...he did not say there were other offenders. What he said was that, if he parked in a wrong place at least there were other cars parked but why is it only his car that was clamped

4. This should raise a serious concern. I noticed you purposely cut the video the moment the man came to clamp the tyre just to suit your narrative. The video dnt show the man leaving. The question is, why dnt the man clamp the tyre of other vehicles parked behind him.

5. See Keyamo, El-Rufai played loyalty game much more than you're doing today and he is reaping the fruit of his labour presently. I don't need to talk too much. Half word is said to a responsible child (that's if you're responsible) when it reaches your stomach, it makes you whole.

I'm just wondering how you can still lie when there's a glaring evidence.

Don't wait for Obi's apology or fine...go to court and do your worst...at least your slave master is the one in charge of the judiciary.
