The way @Uber left Nigeria - abruptly, is illustrative of how Silicon Valley sees Nigerians/Africans;

i.e. "as worthless people, not worthy of even an iota of respect".

No matter how "terrible" you think Nigerians are as a people, you do not abruptly terminate a mission critical app like @Uber, with zero advance warning.

There is absolutely no excuse for this; and if Nigerian regulators are worth their salt, the should take this up.

This is not limited to @Uber - consider how @PayPal treated its Nigerian customers.

Silicon Valley isn't going to treat its Nigerian customers with even a microgram of respect - until Nigerians as a collective make them do so, or Nigerian regulators make them pay dearly.

The problem isn’t nursing as a profession, the problem is marrying someone for the wrong reasons!
Some of you even go as far as encouraging your girlfriends to go to nursing school because you’re already plotting how useful their profession is going to be to you, forgetting that when the lights go out, you’ll be in the same bed with the human being you married. Not their profession, not their money, not their qualifications, just the bare human being in all her vulnerability.

When you strip that person of everything, would you still be okay with what’s left?

Women are much more generous to men who have money, or men they believe have money, than they are to men who actually need their generosity.

The reason is that they believe they’re “buying the dip.” They’re not necessarily helping him out of generosity, they’re making an investment, expecting that when the time comes for reciprocity, he’ll remember how generous they were to him.

This guy hates you, yet you keep showing him love.

Look at everything he engages with. From fake crypto schemes, to politics, to promoting gambling. In almost every way this guy engages with you people, he is either exploiting you, misleading you, or contributing to the things that keep you down.

His music does not raise your consciousness. It does not challenge you to think differently about your circumstances. It does not inspire you to confront the conditions keeping you poor. It simply gives you something to dance to while you forget about the very problems destroying your life.

He makes you dance away your sorrows, while simultaneously participating in the very culture that creates more sorrow for you.

He promotes gambling to people who are already struggling. He involves himself in politics in ways that serve interests that have nothing to do with you. He directly scams you through his fake crypto schemes, while giving you music to make you forget that you are being taken from.

Yet you keep giving your love, money, attention, and influence to people who have repeatedly shown you that they have no interest in your well being.

At some point, you should start asking why the people you love so much have so little interest in whether you actually become better.
