The Liberal Party of Canada is promising to roll out almost $130 billion in new spending over the next four years that, when combined with existing spending, will add $225 billion to the federal debt. https://t.co/o40qHflDH7
Last year, I tabled a piece of legislation the Houston government ignored. This bill #250 would have made it illegal to bury plastic in NS. Almost all the plastic you separate so nicely each week to take to the curb is buried in the ground at landfills.
It’s the same across almost all NS and is happening nationwide. This is due to the economic market for plastic that has changed. Prior to the pandemic a lot of plastic was shipped to China and this is no longer happening.
We should be looking for innovative ways to take this plastic and turn it into fuel, where it originated from. Plastics are made from raw materials like natural gas and oil. We should not be burying it in the ground. Do you agree? If yes, please contact your municipal councillors and let Premier Houston know you support my Bill.

Who benefits from a digital currency?
If I have a $100 banknote in my pocket and go to a restaurant and pay for dinner with it. The restaurant owner then uses the bill to pay for the grocery bill. The grocery store owner then uses the bill to pay the farmer. The farmer will then use the bill for seed stock... on and on it goes.
After an unlimited number of payments, it will still remain a $100, which has fulfilled its purpose to everyone who used it for payment and the bank has not make a cent on the transactions.
But if I go to a restaurant and pay digitally - then there are bank fees. The bank fees for my payment transaction charged to the seller are 3%, so around $3. for each $100 transaction. This $3 fee is for each further payment transaction.
Therefore, after 30 transactions, what will remain of the initial $100 will be only $10. The remaining $90 became the property of the bank - thanks to all digital transactions and fees.

The federal government is forcing a carbon tax on Nova Scotians, while at the same time blocking real solutions to greening our grid.
I stand with the real opportunities of tidal and wind that can truly green our grid and positively transform our economy. #nspoli#cdnpoli
Thanks to Trudeau's carbon tax, tomatoes grown in Manotick are more expensive than tomatoes grown in Mexico... for shoppers in Manotick.
And now Trudeau plans to triple his carbon tax.
Enough. Axe the carbon tax. Bring more food production home.
“Nova Scotia Power reported that the ArriveCAN app blocked American crews that were trying to rush into the province to help with the recovery response and wasted valuable time.”
Poilievre asks the government if they will suspend the ArriveCAN app today instead of on Oct 1st.
