Something I learned by getting to know people over the past year and them getting to know me is that people who don’t pay attention to Covid or the climate crisis or any of the other existential concerns we face are extremely concerned about stuff that I never worry about 1/
🔥 This is an outstanding two-part article from the ‘Institute for New Economic Thinking’ about the long-term consequences of repeated Covid infections.

I've upoladed a video explainer for our latest paper exploring how CO2 increases how long SARS-CoV-2 remains infectious in the air. Give it a watch (it's about 5 minutes)! And if you like it, share it!
If you have any questions, I'd be glad to answer them!

We were informed about the logging of these giants on Sunday and so we protested in the forests today. The logging must end. The chainsaws are felling some of the grandest trees left on Earth. All under PM @AlboMP authority.
Really good summary from @RHarrabin this. The extent to which opponents of climate action don’t understand very basic principles of risk management remains utterly surreal. https://t.co/ii4OEVYLjt
"as the world of tomorrow burns, when the image of Bairstow carrying a Just Stop Oil protester away from the cricket competition is reflected upon by the dying, only one hero will emerge from the picture. And it absolutely won’t be Jonny Bairstow."

Protestors are trying to tell us things we are determined not to hear. If comedy is tragedy, plus time, historical progress is protest, plus time served. @canberratimes@ANUausi
For an insight into why Tasmania has the highest SARS-Cov 2 transmission rate in the nation, here’s our part time Health Minister trying to explain why he led the National Cabinet charge with Perrottet to remove mandatory 5 day isolation

The Australian Covid wave continues unabated. Reported weekly cases (>41K) and hospitalisations (2531) are the highest since early Jan. Our leaders must acknowledge the problem; promote the benefits of indoor masks and vaccine boosters; and seriously invest in indoor ventilation.
@elliegiles It lacks some much needed nuance. It’s all irrelevant if you’re not any good! But if you are good, of course you need a (good) manager. A bad manager can change careers for the worse.
It’s now beyond question:
Federal & state govt public health policies are *designed* to infect & re-infect Australians with SARS-CoV-2 *despite* overwhelming evidence that this will kill and disable many, and *without* any prospect of achieving meaningful hybrid immunity.

Cardiologist Rae Duncan's compelling 12 minute summary of why we must not give up on reducing COVID transmission (extracted from a long discussion, see my next tweet). Her conclusion: "I hope to God I'm wrong" https://t.co/JlGLUjO2KR
