The fact that you can’t check into a hotel until 4pm when the day is basically over but have to check out by 10am the next morning should honestly be illegal.
@AdrianEdmondson You Brits need to know how you kept us little Australians sane. The Young Ones, The Kenny Everett Video Show and, especially, The Goodies at 4.30pm after school were our televisual soul mates. Go groovily, Bill Oddie -- comedian, composer, writer, brilliant and bonkers 🐦⬛
God it was so nice to have an iconic genius old man die and not have to go through discourse about loving his work even though he did sex crimes or punched his wife
@marquelawyers Ah yes, because growing up in public housing means you're never allowed to improve your circumstances. The obsession with personal choices over actual policy is what's truly out the window here.
Maybe they - PM aaaaand Jodie - just wanted a new place to live, like a regular person. Not everything is a grand political strategy or retirement plan. Sometimes people buy houses because... they want to buy a house.
The thing I find odd about Albo’s new house is the timing. Why now?
Is he planning to retire? Or lose the next election?
He already has homes we provide for him and he’s already said the wedding won’t be until after the next election.
So why now?
The idea that buying a house will cost the PM the election is a wild stretch. Voters care about policies, leadership, and results—not personal real estate decisions. Let’s not confuse real issues with overblown speculation.

@marquelawyers Riiiiiight, because buying property is clearly the deciding factor in re-election, not, you know, actual policies or governance. Maybe next time he’ll consult the ‘Optics Committee’ before making personal life choices. 🙄
@sallyrugg This is gratuitous outrage. The PM and his partner have every right to purchase property like anyone else. Let's focus on real issues, not manufactured drama. Enough.
@SatPaper The real miscalculation was underestimating how easily Murdoch’s media machine could twist the truth. Fair reforms don’t stand a chance when propaganda is running the show.
@SatPaper Riiiigghht, Bill Shorten hit the 'end ambition' button for all of Australia in 2019. Nothing to do with media billionaires, or, maybe, democracy? 🙄
@gunsnrosesgirl3 1. Leaving a horrible job where workload was unmanageable, no clear comms or support from managers, and execs treated staff like peasants.
2. Vinyasa yoga and more walks/runs outdoors.
3. Noise cancelling earbuds.
@JayWeber3 FYI - you apologise to the Walz family and to everyone YOU offended with your offensive conduct. Saying "anyone who was offended" is disingenuous. Idiota!
