Mrs Ashima Malhotra, Regional President, Sapta Shakti AWWA, led two meaningful initiatives in Jaipur as part of the 60th AWWA Day celebrations, reaffirming AWWA’s enduring commitment to care, outreach and empowerment.

An outreach program was organised for Veer Naris and Veer Matas on 18 Aug 26, a medical Health Camp, and dedicated facilitation through banks, AWPO and SPARSH, bringing together healthcare, welfare and support services under one platform.

On 20 Aug 26, a Medical Camp was organised at Military Hospital, Jaipur, for families offering general health examinations, screening for cancer and lifestyle diseases with services like Bone Densitometry, Dental care & Mammography. The initiative promoted preventive healthcare, early detection and greater awareness of women’s health.

These initiatives reflect AWWA’s steadfast commitment to reaching out and caring with a special focus on the health and well-being of Veer Naris, Veer Matas.

The march celebrated the spirit of national unity, patriotism and pride, while paying tribute to the valour and sacrifices of our freedom fighters and brave soldiers.

With the Tricolour held high, the young generation and Army families marched together, reaffirming the spirit of “Nation First” and the enduring bond between the Army and the nation.

#ArmyCommander #SaptaShaktiCommand inaugurated the Resettlement Training Node at Jaipur under the aegis of #TanotBrigade, dedicated to equipping retiring and retired soldiers with professional skills for enhanced employability and a seamless transition to civilian life.

Launched in collaboration with Developing Success, an organisation established in 2016 by Mr Nitin Jain & Mrs Neha as a noble facilitator towards the resettlement of Service veterans, this initiative by #SaptaShaktiCommand reflects the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to the welfare, empowerment and long-term well-being of its veterans and prospective retirees.

Umroi, Meghalaya: On Multilateral military exercise PRAGATI 2026, Exercise Director Col Sundeep Punia says, "Pragati, the acronym stands for Partnership of Regional Armies for Growth and Transformation in Indian Ocean Region. With this, we had the aim to create synergy, create interoperability and enhance the mutual trust amongst the friendly foreign nations. With this aim, we had planned this exercise and approximately 400 participants from 12 friendly foreign countries were here. And over last two weeks, we have got trained together, during which the focus of the exercise was on counter-insurgency operations based in semi-mountainous and jungle terrain. During this time, it was a great opportunity for all of us to share the best practices. We planned our operations and carried out detailed discussions on how to incorporate the latest technologies, the niche technology and what is the effect of this on our operations, the new TTPs, that is, techniques, tactics and procedures..."

*Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VM, AOC-in-C, SWAC* visited *13 GRENADIERS (GJ)* which is proudly known as *Ganga Jaisalmer Risala*. He had been deployed with the unit at Siachen Glacier in 1989 as part of Op Meghdoot. He interacted with all ranks as well as some veterans who were deployed with him.
The visit reinforced the strong bond of inter-service cooperation, professionalism and commitment that the IA and IAF have always demonstrated.🇮🇳
While interacting with offrs and tps, he motivated them and expressed confidence that the 565 year old Paltan would continue to follow it’s rich legacy of valour and service.

Lt Col Bijai Singh, CO 13 Grenadiers (Ganga-Jaisalmer) on his camel after the camel mounted unit captured Rinhal post during 1971 War, that too without any mortal casualty. The unit occupied/captured various important posts in western sector including Bijnor & Ranihal (Rinhal) for which Major (later Brig) Jagmal Singh Rathore was awarded the Vir Chakra.
After the war his unit stayed in the desert areas of Rajasthan, 13 Grenadiers till 1973 operated on camels before being converted to a regular infantry battalion.
