We thank God for 25 years of unbroken democracy, but we must do more, our democracy has been hijacked by criminals that parade themselves as saviors. Inflation, unemployment,underachievement, low school completion rate, banditry, injustice is now the tapestry of our woes. The litany of our woes eclipses the Bayeux Tapestry. We must build a new breed of leadership not eaten by the cankerworm of corruption. In all of this the elite class has also failed, never seen an elite class so selfish and so glutinous in its quest to acquire at the expense of building a nation. The foundation of our nation is wobbly,it’s been eaten by the gully erosion of directionless leadership and inept followership.For our democracy to make meaning over the next 25 years, we must have constant fellowship with our conscience and tell our selves the bitter truth. Like Tai Solarin says, “May the road be rough” but let’s remember the road never forgets, Let’s save this country. it’s Gods gift to us all.
