Politics as joy. Something that was forgotten in ten years of stern, unkind faces working '24 hours'.

[Ria Chopra 🐍 @riachops]

today has been a horrible day of discovering how many people my own age who I thought rational are actually closeted hindutva extremists I've been scrolling through stories like "oh you too?" and now I'm just watching this on loop because I'm glad young people like this exist

In 2014, a 15-year-old Pakistani schoolboy named Aitzaz Hasan noticed a stranger wearing a suicide vest entering his school.

Despite being urged by his friends to run away, Aitzaz decided to confront the bomber.

He grabbed the terrorist, and that's when the explosive vest detonated. Killing Aitzaz instantly.

His actions prevented the terrorist from entering the school and killing hundreds of students.

Following his death, his father said, "My son made his mother cry but saved hundreds of mothers from crying for their children."

The Manipur CM and India's PM should resign over what is happening in Manipur. Two Kuki women were paraded naked by a mob in May. No arrests. The video went viral today.
This is a civil war that no politician is talking about. No moral compass.

Since I have to attend the sitting of the State Legislative Assembly today, I will be missing out on the protest for Aarey Forest and the MMRCL land.
I humbly urge new Govt to reconsider its decision.
Don’t cast the hate for us, on to our beloved Mumbai. (1/n)

Don't project anger for me on Mumbaikars. Don't change the proposal for the metro shed. Don't toy with the environment of Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader and former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray

[Nikhil Taneja @tanejamainhoon]

What a terrible, terrible, terrible thing to have happened. @OfficeofUT has been an incredible CM. Can never forget his work during COVID.. this is such a sad day for the citizens of Maharashtra. #UddhavThackarey

Today, Modi govt has hiked the price of LPG cylinders by Rs. 50. With dealer commissions & GST, a cylinder now costs ~ Rs. 1000.

Kerosene prices doubled in just 10 days. When asked in Parliament, govt is flustered.

In India, hate films are tax free while hunger of poor is taxed.

Umar Khalid is in jail for saying, "We won’t respond to hate with hate. If they spread hate, we will respond to it with love." So this makes total sense.
