New Era of Semiconductors in India

Whatever India resolves to do, it firmly accomplishes. About five years ago, India resolved to become a global #semiconductor hub. Guided by the vision of #MakeinIndia, the nation not only moved forward but also accelerated the development of semiconductor conductor manufacturing facilities.

As part of this effort, on July 4, Prime Minister @narendramodi inaugurated the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat. With this being the country's third semiconductor unit, commercial production of chip packaging has now officially begun.

In the year 2014, as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, when the Smart Cities Mission was being deliberated, I had proposed that we indicate at least ten specific priorities — a smart, civic-sense-oriented population, common traffic regulation, universal internet access — interventions that would have impact on the larger populace without requiring huge capital expenditure.

The counter-argument, which ultimately prevailed, was that the Mission should be kept flexible and wide-ranging, leaving each city free to identify its own felt needs.

I demurred, on the ground that I knew exactly how bureaucracy functions at the municipal and state levels. Every proactive department head would insist that his own domain was the most pressing priority. One would make the case for stray dogs, another for dairies, another for tree cover, yet another for organic solid waste management. The consequence, I feared, would be neither smart cities nor a smart, civic-minded populace — merely a proliferation of departmental pet projects dressed up as urban vision.

More than a decade later, my apprehensions have all proved correct.

इसी अद्भुत घटना और वीर बदलूराम की स्मृति को अमर बनाने के लिए मेजर एम. टी. प्रॉक्टर ने यह प्रसिद्ध रेजिमेंटल गीत रचा, जो आज भी असम रेजिमेंट के शौर्य, त्याग और साथीभाव का प्रतीक है।

एक लड़की ने अपने आशिक को मिलने के लिए घर बुलाया, लेकिन दोनों की मुलाकात उस वक्त मुसीबत में बदल गई जब घरवालों ने युवक को पकड़ लिया।घरवालों ने उसके हाथ-पैर बांध दिए और फिर उसकी बेरहमी से पिटाई कर दी।

युवक पर यह भी आरोप है कि उसने लड़की की तय शादी तुड़वाने की कोशिश की थी। बताया जा रहा है कि उसने लड़की के होने वाले ससुराल वालों को दोनों के रिश्ते की जानकारी दे दी, जिसके बाद शादी टूट गई।

#WATCH | Morbi, Gujarat: An unusual incident has been reported in Virparda village, Morbi taluka, where a farm well has been showing wave-like movement. The District Collector has ordered a detailed report from the groundwater research team.

Collector Swapnil Khare says, "... Based on reports circulating on social media about the well in Virparda, district geologists visited the site today. Their preliminary assessment suggests the water movement is likely caused by trapped air beneath the water. As the trapped air shifts, it creates movement on the water's surface... The Gujarat Groundwater Research Institute has also been asked to conduct a detailed study and submit a report." (06.08)

I have a suggestion to @AmitShah add an express clause to the FCRA Amendment Bill 2026 stating that the vesting of assets in designated authority as provided for in this act shall not alter nature or characterstics of any such places of worship. And that such places of worship even after vesting of assets shall continue with its religious activities as permitted in law without any hindrance.

This would bust all American & Western Propaganda and disinfomration campaign to cause massive protests in India. This would also make it easier to sustain this Amending law before Supreme Court in any challenge.
