Thanks so much for all the kind messages ❤️ The best part of the last week has been hearing from so many people who loved my grandfather and sharing stories of him with those who never had the chance to meet him.

My grandfather died yesterday after 9 days of at-home palliative care. It was the hardest week of my life. But I am so lucky to have had him as long as I did and to have gotten the chance to repay just a bit of the love he has given me all my life.

When I was growing up, I didn’t have babysitters, I had my grandparents. My grandpa braided my hair every day, bought me enough hairpins to groom an army of pre-teens, and was more excited than anyone when I went to law school. I miss him very much. Good thoughts are appreciated.
