@KeithKSmith2@GetMyGuitars In my experience, locking on to a click is the biggest hurdle between amateur and pro level players. You can have chops, but if they don't line up with everyone else, it's just noise.
@Milajoy Yep. Although I'm a Texan and have no dog in the fight for California...when the races get closer and there's a clear favorite, there's a moment when it becomes obvious that either they have a false hope of surging, or intentionally trying to throw the game. Plants.
@RoyRogers_HTMS Funny you have a repair book sitting front and center. Because on more than one occasion I've seen those tuners go so sharp that they broke the headstocks off. So that's a hard no for me. lol.
@the_bassplayer@guitarcenter The guys that own and run @GuitarSanctuary in Mckinney, TX are lovely folks too. Also fantastic musicians who help keep the music scene there up and running smooth. The folks who work there are experienced pro musicians themselves. Shane is an amazing steel player.
@MaryTilesTexas Good on you using DuraRock instead of the hardiboard garbage. When people want to purchase their own materials, and I tell them dura-rock but they show up with hardi...I make them trade it back. I can't stand hardi. It turns to sludge...it is NOT waterproof.
@RichOToole Yep. I still have a guitar case that we decorated with his stickers at a show together. Was genuinely one of the nicest cats in the bizz. Lost him way too soon.
@RichOToole That would be a great question for Mark and Eric McKinney. I know Eric moved further south of A town. They know all the good tex-mex joints.
@JazzMemes Got my first 57 in '89. Through the years I've bought many more. Not because they needed replacing, but because I needed more as I got more into live playing and recording. The original one is still fully functional after a long hard life. Can't beat 'em.
@DieselBABE20 I see your @ hotmail and raise you @ AOL. If you didn't have a stack of free trial AOL CD's around...well then you just didn't care about tech at the time. lol.
@vurnt22 This is the beauty of the guitar. How we are all given the same 11 notes but our unique influences, phrasing choices, emotions, etc is what really defines a 'sound'. Don't chase other peoples journeys to the point of frustration. Learn what you can but keep forward on your path.
@GuitarG71647302 In the 90's Fender had some issues with the clear finishes on the necks. It's called de-laminating, which is fancy talk for the clear lifting off the wood. And once it lifts and gets air and sweat in it, it tarnishes to that sun-faded look.
@BakeyDanner I think where these modelers shine most is for folks that use in ears for shows/rehearsals. IEMs can hide the fakeness a bit in a full mix. But to me they still haven't achieved the push and pull you get from the player-guitar-amp yet. Not yet anyway.
@misfitpatriot_ Don't let the Box Stores sell you unnecessary garbage. You don't need to 'waterproof' a tile shower. Just keep your groutlines sealed and corners and edges caulked. Do it 2 a year if you can. If the pan is done right it will never leak. Maintenance is key.
