A recent government notification has mandated that if a married woman wishes to obtain a #maidensurname, she will have to submit:

1. either a copy of a decree of divorce;

2. or a no-objection certificate from her husband, that he has no objection if she uses her maiden surname.

Having said that, the hardships that the destitute overcome only leads them to feel and give more to others.

And the fact that Indian government had the audacity in them to think that compensating with a 12000$ would be enough.
