@UjuAnya @designmom I actually asked whether I needed my mammogram and smear (which were both due) as I had a post bowel cancer surgery and chemo new baseline CT which my oncologist reviewed with me. She said cancer would be very advanced to show up and mammograms and colonoscopies give better views

@richardengland1 @ClintVSmith 2/2 in fact thinking back I can think of several private sector companies who have either not survived or had significant redundancies when public sector contracts or programs have been cancelled 2/2

@richardengland1 @ClintVSmith I think the point people are missing is that a significant proportion of any Ministry’s funding is to contract work to the private sector - for instance most programmes I’ve worked on if you cut funding 70% or more actually pays private sector vendor contracts (and some NGO) 1/2

@LI_politico The good advice I got passed to me from another mother was chose one sleep time to do something just for you rather than try and fit in “tasks”. Even once my pre-schoolers outgrew naps, afternoon quiet time in their bedrooms while the smaller one slept was sanity saving 2/2

@LI_politico The first six weeks is likely going to be a shit show - it’s not coincidence that most cultures have “rules” around what you can do and can’t e.g. the Judeo-Christian “purification” at six weeks basically meant you couldn’t prepare food, or do many other daily tasks b4 then. 1/2

@Fifilabonbon1 @Ash_Stewart_ No - my grandmother used it in the 60s and had been using it before that. In our family it always meant a huge ( vast) quantity and Africa was a huge continent. Often used post funerals or pot luck events when there was significant quantities of left over food to deal with

@hellomotorbike @Nic18111 It was also incredibly political - the approach switched with a change of government from a universal unit standards model - competent/not competent to achievement standards for school qualifications with Merit and Excellence as options

@hellomotorbike @Nic18111 I was working in education and doing my MEd- the move to achievement standards was well underway - I have research papers I wrote in 96 and 97 referencing the curriculum papers. It wasn’t called NCEA but the frameworks were being tested

@hellomotorbike @Nic18111 That was a transition stage for NCEA - I most definitely sat UE exams in 1977 (and bursary in 78) And my youngest brother did in 83. My dad had a thing about us not getting it through accreditation

@yvonnemax @mintyhiggins I think it is a typo - my elder two children did UE in 99 and 2000, my middle two were second and fourth year of NCEA so 2003/2005 from memory.

@mintyhiggins @allocyttus And in fact one of the strengths of NCEA is that it focuses on what students have learned/ achieved across a range of skill sets rather than narrowing it to the more focused academics of university pathways

@Sarah9999999 @AllegraAlexan18 @GML3800 Have you heard of the fontanelle - the part of a baby’s skull which hasn’t totally closed at birth and can appear slightly concave? I have photos of my kids at that age with that “flatness” - no photoshop involved.

@elle_hunt TBH while I agree there is a level of security - having lived through the 80’s early 90’s high mortgage rates and fluctuating since, along with several periods of income insecurity, I have sold a house because we could no longer afford it and been anxious in two others

@bartsnz @SachaDylan I think it is a convention. You know all the orders they wear on state visits? They both wear the highest local order - the sovereign as the awarder of the order and the consort as their partner - the Duke of Ed had both NZ and Australian highest orders from memory

Our oil supplies are impacted by the Ukraine war. Huge areas of food production have flood damage 2/2

@tracey8567 @Larissacomments @dianne_torr As a small business owner Covid is still impacting global supply chains and the cost of shipping as just one example- for sometime the cost of shipping has doubled or tripled for goods coming into NZ, suppliers can’t full orders due to high numbers of sick staff 1/2

@ConnyZirkel @amscraig So two weeks ago someone asked it for key tasks to deliver a website project prior to a planning meeting - I was like so you are paying for my expertise as one of the most experienced web delivery project managers and you thought this was a good idea to lead with?
