I am a junior Primary Education (P-5) major from Palm Springs, CA. I am currently attending Xavier University and am looking forward to teaching children soon!
Since the premiere of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, quite a few viewers have taken to social media to raise concerns about being unable to hear large amounts of the movie's dialogue. https://t.co/RLlpyRofov
@callmemissMC @LaurenAngelone Hey Ms. McFeeters, I agree and think it is important for us as teachers to learn about more accessible websites for children to use when they need resources to use. I didn’t know Flickr was a public domain prior to your post. #xuedchat
@janette_metzger @LaurenAngelone Hey Janette, I agree and think that it is unusual to think that content created for the general public would automatically be copyrighted as you would think it would be for private use only in that case. I think you have a point, but it reminds us to be cautious. #xuedchat
@LaurenAngelone A1: "In many countries, copyright infringement brings hefty penalties including fines of hundreds of thousands of dollars and imprisonment, depending on the situation"(Morris, 2021). I personally didn’t realize the severity of copyright infringement… #xuedchat
Strategy for Reflecting Dialogically:
Students work on a visual arts project exploring family culture, creating their own family culture using a range of multimedia tools. Students also collect several examples of family cultures. A quick google pic search using the term
2. Independent: Students analyze the one picture on their own.
3. Think, Pair, Share: Tell the person beside you what is happening in the picture combined with your cultural knowledge to create some assumptions about these kids.
@LaurenAngelone A2: In order to make my classroom more accessible I must be willing and take responsibility with learning how to become better with my use of technology and how to teach others how to use it appropriately. My attitude/outlook plays a major role in my students success. #xuedchat
@LaurenAngelone A1: My most significant takeaway from the Digital Divide readings was the fact that this idea of a digital divide can go beyond the classroom as many families may not have access to wifi or basic home essentials in order for them to succeed in class. #bringchange#xuedchat
Hey everyone, the reason I want to be a teacher is to bring a smile to child's faces and unlock their creative sides. My goal as a teacher is to make the content interesting, unique, and purposeful so that both boys and girls can make a difference. #xuedchat
