It's easy to get caught up in wins, rankings, scholarships, and what's next.

But for most students, the value of sports isn't found in a future roster spot. It's found in the experience itself.

It's the teammate who becomes a lifelong friend. The coach who believes in them. The confidence gained after overcoming a challenge. The feeling of being part of something bigger than themselves.

At their best, sports provide students with opportunities to grow, connect, and belong.

That's the purpose of education-based athletics.

Walkersville Lady Lions win the CMC field hockey championship today at Tuscarora. Lions score twice in third period and hold off the talented Hawks of Urbana to win a hard fought 2-1 contest. Congrats ladies on an outstanding job!
