I watched this video from Idoma TV about the suffering of our people in Agatu, and honestly, my heart broke. 💔 Tears came down from my eyes because Agatu is where I come from.

For years, our people have lost loved ones, homes, farms and livelihoods to recurring attacks by armed groups. Communities have been displaced, children have lost access to education, and families have struggled to access healthcare and basic necessities. Amnesty International has specifically documented the severe impact of violence and displacement in Agatu and other parts of Benue.

What hurts me most is the fear of returning home. I am from Agatu, yet I cannot confidently say I have a safe home to return to. What kind of country allows its citizens to live with this fear for so many years?

We are tired of condolences. We are tired of promises that disappear after the cameras leave.

To the Nigerian government: please protect our people. Secure our communities. Help displaced families return home. Restore our schools, healthcare facilities and livelihoods.

And as another election approaches, please don't come to Agatu only to ask for our votes. Come with security. Come with action. Come with results.

Agatu is not just a voting population. Agatu is home. Agatu is people. Agatu is Nigeria. 🇳🇬💔

Fair enough. But shouldn’t that same standard apply to governors who won elections under other political platforms yet openly support Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate?

If supporting another party’s presidential candidate is enough reason to tell someone to join APC, then why should governors elected under other parties be treated differently when they publicly campaign for Tinubu?

Political loyalty may be a personal choice, but voters deserve clarity. If you won your mandate under one political platform and openly support another party’s presidential candidate, Nigerians have every right to question where your political allegiance stands.
