In a continuation of our fuels reduction efforts along Bennett Valley Road, firefighters conducted pile burning operations Monday at Sonoma Mountain Vernal Pools Preserve. Back on Nov. 3, we joined @SonomaLandTrust for a 30-acre prescribed burn there. Now, we are continuing with more proactive work to build resilience against wildfire and benefit native habitat in the Sonoma Valley.

Firefighters brief Tuesday morning before beginning ignitions for the prescribed fire at Pole Mountain and Little Black Mountain Preserves near Cazadero. They will look to treat 60 acres at the site over the next 48 hours to allow for a low intensity burn.
