Emphasis on ‘contextually’.

This innocent misnomer is typical to the crossover phase of most broad social/cultural evolution.

Afrohouse is the crossover sub genre for mainstream people.

It recorded a 778% year on year download growth rate in 2025 according to Splice

It accounted for 70% of all house music growth - Midia Research

However, in Nigeria Afrohouse is easily confused with other sub genres

I believe the right/wrong reason isn’t as important as doing it properly. Where properly = history, knowledge, culture, passion, etc.

It shouldn’t matter if I am djing to become popular as long as I am true to the culture, respect the history and contributing to its growth.
