Don’t borrow shame from the past. You are not that person anymore and you simply didn't know better. No reason to beat yourself up for it. All you can do is really do better.
girls will survive abuse, heartbreak, grief, and unspeakable tragedies and still move through the world with kindness and compassion, but one minor inconvenience in a man's childhood and he spends the rest of his life terrorizing and poisoning everyone around him

“i recently saw a topic online where a girl from an overseas app said she really didn’t understand why some girls don’t get manicures, so i clicked the comments and read...”
in the comments some said they drive bulldozers because they need to press a lot of buttons, others say they’re teachers and need to hold chalk, still others say they like horseback riding, and some say they own farms—there are all sorts of professions.
i feel like this is exactly what makes women so vibrant and beautiful. we are meant to embrace our diversity, not bound by narrow standards of beauty.”
i think it’s important to make plans for each day or week because having something to look forward to gives us a little excitement to get through the day, so when something bad happens, they won’t mean much, because we knew something good is waiting for us at the end of it.
my therapist told me, "stop assuming people are mad at you. Stop attempting to read people's minds. stop trying to manage the thoughts and emotions of others. let people be in charge of themselves. if they have something to say to you they will and if they don't it is their responsibility not yours. overthinking kills happiness" and that hit me like a brick.
After a certain age, you are no longer the product of your environment or how you were raised. It's a personal choice to live the way you do. At some point, blaming your past becomes a distraction from your future. Healing is your responsibility. Growth is your decision.
aww thank you! saw a tweet somewhere here that suggested philippines x thai GL collab. i agree! we both have so many good talents and equally amazing writers. ✨
romanticize ur life. make habits more bearable. do something a little different with your rituals. take up a new hobby.
try a different shampoo. eat something you haven’t tried. watch a stupid movie. listen to a new artist.
do something. create something. stop consuming.
every time you say "this is new for me" instead of "i'm bad at this," you allow your brain space to learn instead of shut down. that's neuroplasticity in real time.
I actually don't want to climb any corporate ladders. I don't care about job titles. I don't need accolades.
I just want to have income to fund my lifestyle, not be depressed, help other people, and be around good humans.
You are not meant to train a grown person to be empathetic. If you keep having to explain why your feelings matter, the issue is not your delivery, it is their capacity. Empathy is chosen, not forced.

I read a quote that said, “You can be the prettiest shade of green, but you’ll never be enough for someone whose favorite color is blue,” and it really stuck with me.
