@lolzareverser @ShuntIsReal @rajxnull@offsectraining@jinmo123@c2w2m2 Yes, getting a job is very important, but it's not everything. Why do CTF? In the past, I did ctf just for fun. nowadays, it's for personal growth.
@lolzareverser @ShuntIsReal @rajxnull@offsectraining@jinmo123@c2w2m2 Is getting a job is everything? To correct one thing, I did not complete the BoB program. I started CTF in my early teens. It's far from thinking about having a job. Many hackers around me aren't doing CTF just because of money or jobs.
@lolzareverser @ShuntIsReal @rajxnull@offsectraining@jinmo123@c2w2m2 So I never really resonated with the idea that OSCP is overrated, but after reading your post, I can see why ppl would say that. In fact, @c2w2m2 and I used to work at the same company (neither of us had a certification like OSCP) and we worked full-time even while in college.
@lolzareverser @ShuntIsReal @rajxnull@offsectraining@jinmo123@c2w2m2 Do you really think so?
When hiring offensive security researchers in Korea, the biggest criteria is CTF / bugbounty / CVE achievements.
Except for a few large corporations and accounting firms, OSCP is not required.
2 years ago, a similar anti-cheating mechanism was applied in a domestic CTF. (of course, unlike codegate, there were many challenges for beginners and there were limit of team size (<=4)), and a total of 22 teams were caught cheating on 6 challenges. (obvious cheating)
However, unlike that case, what I was overlooked in this case is that it may not be "obvious cheating". It is certain that to be disqualified by the rules, but there may be a "victim" to it.
Codegate CTF 2023 Preliminary is coming. 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
